I bought my Chevy Tahoe in 2012.I would changed my oil every 3000 miles.every time my oil was changed, the oil tech would inform me that your oil is very low by showing me the dip stick.when I had 167,009 miles, I was experiencing lifter noise and oil consumption.I took my Tahoe to a Chevy dealership were they found ehaust lifters and cam lobe was worn.they had to replace camshaft, lifters, oil pump, bolts, gaskets, etc.very expensive fix.now that, I have my 5.3 vortex motor fixed, it still consuming oil.I have had many oil changes since motor was repaired and still my 5.3 vortex motor is consuming oil showing low on oil dip stick.on 12/5/2020, I had a oil change at a oil change place and the technician showed me the dipstick with the oil showing very low.where is this oil going?

Gas engine run away check engine light illuminated with P0069, P0430 (emissions codes) engine uncontrollably revved to maximum 6000 RPM (max throttle)while in drive gear from autostop resume.. cruse control not enabled slight uphill grade required engine to be shut off with key same day as first event while in drive gear from autostop resume with cruse control enabled at 25 mph engine uncontrollably revved to maximum 6000 RPM was able regain control of engine RPM by shutting off cruse control.. (something in common with the first time ) slight uphill grade uncontrolled high engine RPM from autostop resume still happening after replacement of the map sensor... I see as much as 2,000 to 2500 RPM from autostop resume... this is not normal it should be starting at 1200 to 1500 RPM.. normal engine starts are at 1100 RPM

Vehicle's autostop feature is extremely dangerous when driver is trying to apply the brakes and slow vehicle. Vehicle jolts violently forward upon breaking and accelerates to 10 mph. Vehicle's transmission failed at 135K miles during stop at traffic light in hayward ca in Dec 2018. Transmission was rebuilt. Vehicle at 145K miles now is completely shutting down during auto stop with low RPM's without any service codes to check. At all times vehicle is in drive.

I purchased my Tahoe from the dealer brand new and always took it to get serviced at the same dealer. In 2015 I took it in for a check engine light and they said there was a misfire and they replaced the camshaft and machined the heads stating that the valves were leaking. Repairs cost nearly $3000. This year 2018 in March the engine light came on again. The dealer stated that there was a misfire in a cylinder the same cylinder that was mifiring 3 years prior. They said a roller on the rocker disintergrated and repairs would cost close to $6000 this is not due to anything I did the vehicle does even have 100,000 miles on it. No harsh driving or anything like that. I believe this is a manufacturing issue. Not a safety issue but I think it is a manufacturing defect.

All ip warning lamps illuminated, loss of power, stalling, gage fluctuation, intermittent door lock operation. Vehicle was in motion on highway when this occurred. Error codes include U0073, U0121M U0101, U0242 ( from dealership analysis). Cause unknown. Vehicle has been in dealership more than 7 weeks without cause of problem not isolated. Technician stated crackling sound when grasping wiring in dashboard area. Loss of communication between control module and various components occurs within one (1) to five (5) seconds. Chevrolet issued tech bulletin #08-07-30-021E. Dealership has followed this bulletin without correcting the problem.

I bought my 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe brand new. People laugh at me because I've always dealt with the dealership on everything including all oil changes. Now I'm being told that I have lifter and cam problems. I complained about the engine light being on 5 months prior to be told this. I was informed that the check engine light was on because of the tps sticking. I'm a single mother of 2. I purchased a new vehicle not to have these kind of problems especially since I've always taken my truck to the dealership. I cant afford a new engine, my truck is parked and I have to get rides to work from co-workers. I cant sleep nor work.

We had this same recurring problem with this Tahoe for the last 10K miles. Sometimes when driving at higher speed or just idling, it will display a "reduced engine power" and you will loose all power. Engine is still running and lights and radio will work, but you get no power when pressing the gas. Its scary because it happens so suddenly with out any warning. We have spend a couple of thousand dollars trying to trouble shoot this but it hasn't been solved..
