This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chevrolet dealer.
The cracked dashboards in Tahoe and Suburban vehicles is a well know problem that was ignored year after year by the manufacturer. I really loved this vehicle and was so disappointed that the standard of workmanship was so low. You can find numerous YouTube videos of the problem with the dash in fairly new vehicles. My dash was replaced under warranty. I have to wonder if this problem continues or if it was corrected with the new body style in 2015.

This is a recurring complaint. Fixed under warranty once, now broken again. Seems like GM poor quality part! Safety hazard, broken dash right to the face in accident.

Please add me to the list. I have a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe LT and it has two cracks on the dash. One above the passenger air bag and the other above the odometer. The dealership is offering to pay for the fix, because we bought it used, but what is going to happen when it bust open again? The company that is going to fix it says it happens all of the time, but if that is true then GMC/Chevrolet needs to recall these vehicles and make them safe for the consumer before something bad happens and they are dishing out much more money!! I just can't believe they are charging all this money for these luxury SUV's and can't even make a dash correctly.

Crack in dash near instrument panel and air bag on passenger side. Crack is still getting larger. This is a safety hazard. GM should issue a recall and repair.

We bought our Tahoe 5/4/16. The dash was already cracked it just wasn't a deal breaker. After getting used to another car payment, we started trying to give it some TLC on things like the dash.... after googling the suggested repair methods we saw that the problem is in almost every 3rd gen Tahoe. So we just said screw it and got a "old man" dash rug. (About $40) it stopped the annoying rattling sound when driving, however they didn't send enough double sided 3m tape, just worthless Velcro. The dash rug has cut outs to allow the airbags to properly deploy if need be. It's just somewhat terrifying that parts of the dash may fly out with it.

I bought the car in June 2015 and I just noticed it a couple of weeks ago.

I just found that a lot of Tahoe's, have this problem. We all need to report this to NHTSA as a personal safety hazard. The cracks in the dash are in the air bags & in front of the driver. I hope that this problem does not become flying plastic in a car crash. You would think that at that price we paid for this vehicles chevrolete would take care of buyers, but no they want to say that it normal wear. explain wear and tear on a dash board for a vehicle that only 4 years old?
Someone need to take some action and replace it or fix it before someone is injury , then a law suit before action happens.
Can someone tell me how to get this fixed. it should not be out of my pocket for vehicle under 5 years!

The dash on my 2011 Tahoe was cracked, took it in to be repaired, now less than one year later the dash is cracked again in a different area of the dash... I have called the dealership and they are going to replace it yet again. I am not sure of the cost for this repair since it is over on the years that I have owned it. But the truck only has 29k miles on it... Gm Needs to Fix this. We purchased the Tahoe brand New.

I have a cracked dash and on the last rain, water in the rear passenger door. They want $900 to fix the dash that is an obvious problem because the dealership said they have had several come in.

Very annoying because this is my FIRST brand new vehicle. I purchased this Tahoe with only 7 miles on it from Freeway Chevrolet off of the I-10 in Phoneix AZ. I did call the same dealership considering I always take it back for service and a guy named Scott in repair asked 1 question "what is the mileage?" I told him I was at 38,000 and he said we can repair it but at your cost, it is no longer under bumper to bumper...
Very frustrated, I explained to him I had purchased a dash protector and I am still unaware when it cracked because of the protector covering the dash, One day I was wiping down the dash and saw the crack, so it could have been there previously, his comment was, well I have already helped you by telling you it would be at your expense. I have already had the door handle replaced and I am wondering if it is because of this cheap plastic.
I would have rather faced a cracked dash when this vehicle was paid off but to experience this only 3 years of owning this vehicle then to be told pretty much to go to hell and pay for this expense that should be replaced by the dealership or maker for using cheap plastic????

HELLO, GMAC OWNERS
I have found that A LOT of Tahoe's,Truck,Yukon have this problem and GM won't fix it. We all need to report this to NHTSA as a personal safety hazard. The cracks in the dash are in the air bags & in front of the driver. I hope that this problem does not become flying plastic in a car crash. You would think that GM would take care of buyers but no they want to say that it normal wear. But I can't think of the last time I put my butt on the dash in two spots.
So it's NOT NORMAL WEAR for an almost new car. If it was 10 years old MAYBE but not this Tahoe, it still smells new. So GM, you need to take some action to do your part in the design of this dash. To replace it or fix it before someone is killed or harmed for the rest of there life . We all know that it may cost you a little money but WE all paid a LOT of money for the cars that we drive. WE all hope that you as a Company will Honor what you sell. But WE will wait to see and pigs don't fly yet.

Regardless of what we did the plastic dashboard of our 2011 Chevy Tahoe just kept cracking. We have tried to stabilize it with sponge and insulation foam to cut the vibration noise down. This is a temporary fix that sometimes works for the duration of a road trip. This cracked dashboard will clearly impact the resale value. GM should stand behind their product and make good on a fix.
