About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Rear defrost wire constantly separates from the glass. We have been to various dealerships more than a dozen times and the same problem persists. Many of these repairs have included a brand new back window and wiring and the problem continues to occur. Our truck has been in and out of the dealer for days at a time only to break again within days/weeks of repair. This creates a very unsafe driving experience, especially in the winter months (now) when we cannot see out of the back window. This case is fully registered with the dealership and with GM directly, but no permanent resolution has been identified. The wire is currently detached, it fell off again within 24 hours of the last repair. This has happened both while the vehicle is stationary and while it is moving.
