I purchased a GM certified 2014 Chevy Tahoe in June of 2014 and the steering wheel leather is peeling. Vehicle till this day has under 33k miles and I purchased the GM certified platinum warranty $3700. Bought the vehicle from Coggin GMC of Orange Park, Florida.
Went to the dealer and they said it is not a covered item and sorry for my luck. I advised them still under the factory bumper to bumper warranty and they stated the trim for seats and steering wheel is not covered. They suggested I call 800-222-1020 the Chevrolet Customer Service Hotline. I called 6-3-15 and filed a report with their "senior" customer service agent. Her name is Velva and she stated I would get a call from the original selling dealer in approx 2 days.
To this day I still have not received a call. I have called multiple times to the dealer and left messages and still no call. Today I called Velva and left a message asking for a call back. We will see if I get a call back. This is the first Chevrolet I have owned and more than likely the last, with Chevrolet trying to get out of the steering wheel peeling and it is under 36k miles with their platinum warranty??? Only time will tell. I plan on putting this post on every single website I can find to help other people with the same issue.
