This is the first Chevy SUV I ever bought. I normally go with Ford but wanted to change this time around. Now for starters, I am told that this engine transitions from V8 to V4,that is something new to me and will take some time getting use to it.
Once I drove the vehicle off the lot, I put the vehicle through a normal driving routine, testing its performance on the streets and the highway. What I have noticed is when driving the vehicle above 50 mph, there is no issue at all. It's when it slows below 50 is when I'm noticing a serious loss in performance. Yes, I understand that because it transitions to V4, that the engine feels sluggish, however, what I notice is when I'm in stop and go traffic, that the motor feels like it's choking, that it's starving for fuel. I took the vehicle to the service department and had a technician test drive it while I was sitting in the passenger seat. He told me that it is performing as designed. I disagree with him because he did not drive the car long enough to feel it shutter and choke like I've been feeling. My next option is to go back to the dealer, test drive the same Chevy Tahoe as the one I bought, then see if it performs the same way. If it doesn't,( and I expect it won't) then they need to come up with a solution.
The performance of my vehicle is intolerable.I just traded in a 2004 Lincoln Navigator with 198000 miles, and it never performed like this.

Not sure what the fix is, but had both fuel injectors replaced, lines cleaned and air filter changed. Maintenance was always done on time, as suggested. The truck seemed to hate going under 50mph and definitely didn't like coasting.
