I got the car with 421 miles on it already. So I didn't think was a problem. I had a noise in the front dash and drivers door 3 weeks after getting the car. I didn't mind it at first, but then one problem after another started happening with the high priced Tahoe. I took the car in for service and they heard the noise, felt the problems with the slip in transmission and also the navigation not working right. So they took the car when i was away for work. I came home about a week later car was not ready. So i waited another week then picked up the truck. The transmission would still slip and every time from parked to drive the truck would make loud noise and feel the gears kick in. Also with the gears truck fells like its stuck in gear or will not shift smooth to next gear.
One week later the noise, transmission, navigation and a new noise when i stepped on the gas peddle had all came back. So i was to busy to get back to service for a few weeks. Finally make it to service and they take the car for about a week again. In this week time or longer they never called me or let me know what was happing with the truck. So finally i get a call truck is ready. I pick it up again and now have to drive 700 miles to lake tahoe and then back to los angeles. On my drive up the whole dash system goes haywire and shuts off, so i can't see navigation, music or ac controls. So the whole ride up with this problem and finally third day of trip it all comes back on.
I'm ready to head back to LA and on the way back down the engine starts to make a loud noise with the other problems still going on. The car is now screaming down the highway and transmission is not working with gears properly. I still have about 500 miles to go. I get home and bring it to service and held for about 2 weeks because waiting on parts. It was the front differential that was making the screaming noise. During this Im over this over priced truck and ask for GMC to contact me.
GMC finally contacts me and tells me that my car dose not fit the buy back program and its only been in shop for 16 days. This call is happening while my truck is still in shop for over 9 days on top of the 16 the GMC rep is talking about. He dose not have those days in yet cause the car has not been returned to me. So he begins to make every excuse in the book to me and talk to me like this is my first truck I have ever owned. He tells me trucks make those noises and that's part of the ride , not knowing they are changing my front differential. So i sent a email to his company when they asked me about my experience with there rep. I told them how i as treated and would never recommend Chevy to anyone i know. The next day i get call from rep and now he couldn't work hard enough to make me happy.
Still dealing with this bad truck but Im going into place I purchased truck from and having them look at it. I'm bringing a create of lemons and if they say truck is fine. I will proceed to stand out front with truck covered with lemons and tell all customers not to buy Chevy cause they are lemons with high price tags.

This is the third time they will be 'attempting' to fix the problem. My truck only has 6844 miles on it. First time, the technicians didn't even know what it was. They said that because the 'engine light' didn't go on, they didn't know what it was. A week later my wife got stuck on the freeway because the truck went into neutral and she almost got rear ended. She had our kids with us in the vehicle.
We got it towed to the dealer, upon their 'inspection' they didn't find anything and said the vehicle drove fine. I told them I wouldn't take it back until they figured it out. The next day they called and said that when they were test driving they finally found what I was explaining to them. The repair took two weeks and they said that they replaced the transmission valve (the brain of the transmission).
Its been about two weeks since I've got it back from repair and the symptoms are starting again.... This is the third time that I have to bring this vehicle in. I hope they either fix it right or take it back and give me another one (Lemon Law)...

Transmission when taking off kicks into gear really hard. Like the transmission is going out. It's been tested and I've been told no codes come up... But I am very worried that the transmission will go out soon after my warranty is up. I only have about 10,000 miles left, and it's a. Costly problem.

Transmission began failing around 114,000 miles on my 2015 Tahoe. Vehicle would vibrate when shifting lower gears (felt like ripples in the road), and when pulling up steep grade it had trouble shifting gears (RPM would rev high and gear wouldn't shift). I was told the torque converters are bad in models 2015-2018 and when they fail, they contaminate the whole transmission. Had to have my transmission rebuilt with a better toque converter. This repair cost me $5,500.00 out of pocket, not to include what I paid for a rental car while I waited for the repair. Very big problem that cost big money!
