AC stopped working. The car is less than 2 years old and the dealership say miles exceeded warranty. How does a consumer know there's a defective part if you seldom use the AC? They offered $70 toward a good will warranty, really!! 6 months ago the intake had an issue and it took over a week to fix. The only reason I found out that my AC was not working is because it's been 100 degrees in CA for past couple of days, I can't even use the car to drive in at this point. Dealer service department says they have no knowledge of part being defective only if a customer comes in and then you find out the warranty is not available because you exceeded the mileage for it, but not the years. Then service department says it proves the part was defective and they will fix it... well, I'm not a mechanic and how do you trust a company that doesn't stand behind the vehicle you purchased from them?

Well, when you pay over $50,000 for a vehicle, one would think that there would be no issues for more than the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. The employees that engineer these vehicles must be paid very well to figure out how to make things wear out just after the warranty expires.

Our Tahoe was under the mileage of 36,000 when this issue happened, but was 3 days past the delivery date, so the dealer told us the repair would not be covered. The issue was that the A/C stopped working. The blower would come on and work, but no cold air. We took it into the local dealer and they told us that there has been many problems with the A/C condensers and there is an extended warranty coverage for this. Most likely this is the issue and should be covered.

After being at the dealer all day, they could not find the issue. So they filled the system with dye and told us to drive it for the weekend and use the A/C. We took it back on Monday and they called to tell us that the line was rusted from the salt in Western New York and this is not covered. The cost of the repair was to be over $1,500.00. I told them not to fix it and we will be in to pickup our last chevy we will ever purchase.

When we went to pick up the Tahoe, the repair rep told me that he called Chevy and Chevy agreed to pay $1,000.00 of the repair and we would have to pay the balance. So we had it fixed. We have mixed feelings. Happy that they covered a large part of the cost, but very unhappy that we had to get it fixed in the first place and it still cost us over $500.00.

Cold air stopped blowing on a 3.5 year old, $72,000, always garage kept car. The car has 58,000 miles so out of the traditional warranty, however, after research, a special coverage was issued for the condenser up to 60,000 miles. After calling Chevy, they said our VIN number falls into this extended mileage coverage. However, the dealer claims the issue is the evaporator and not the condenser. He continued to say he has never had to replace the evaporator in a car this new... ever! The entire situation is suspicious at best. The evaporator part was $200, the labor charge was $3,200... also suspicious at best.

As a long time GM owner, I would hate to think a certified Chevrolet dealer would mask repairs to boost their service department quota at a time when sales are down due to Covid-19. This experience certainly makes me second guess my next vehicle purchase.

First time this year I had turned on the a/c. The air coming out was really hot and I checked to make sure the adjustments were correct. They were. I called the auto dealer where I bought my vehicle and they scheduled my appointment and came and picked it up and brought it back to me. They told me they had to replace the condenser. We had bought the extended warranty so I was glad of that at least. We still had to pay $200 dollars even with the extended warranty. Then I googled online the problem and saw that others had experienced the same problem. Seems like there should be a recall on this problem!

I am going to pay the bill I guess and hope there is a recall so I can get my money back!

AC on a vehicle shouldn't be an issue now days sound ridiculous specially coming from a such nice vehicle a Tahoe z71 off road package is embarrassing to the owner and the company it self. Why is this a problem, stupidity from engineers. I don't know, What I do know is that I make monthly payments on this beautiful piece of equipment that AC is not an option bc it sucks. my 2002 4runner does a better job blowing ice cold air. Please GM take your customers serious and don't sell what you won't buy.

This problem is a big pain in the ass. When the temperature is in the mid to high 90's. It is very embarrassing when you pay over $70,000.00 for a Chevy Tahoe that has a major problem with the A/C. Hopefully, GM will fix this ASAP.

I had purchased this used under warranty 2016 LTZ TAHOE with 29000 km. Then After two weeks when i start it and turn the A/C on it was blowing hot air and I noted that the compressor didn’t engage at all. Two days later it was working 😒 when I started the car. At third start it didn't work again whatever I did, so I went to the dealer. They changed the whole fuse master box under warranty, claiming that it was a relay failure. I picked up the car and the A/C was working again but not as cold as before especially at low speeds or in heavy traffic. So few days later I went back to them complaining about this thing. After checking they said every thing is ok and there’s nothing wrong with it and convinced me that it's normal and good. They made me doubt my sense. After several desperate attempts with the dealer to solve this problem which had not been successful I decided to sell the car and I did.

Now the ac is not blowing cold at all. I see several others with the same issue. Is there an active recall for this problem?
