Previous Chevy Suburban (94) had over 247000 miles and didn't leak or burn oil. my 2016 Tahoe on the other hand has 62900 and it is recommended by the dealership that the engine be replaced as there is a compression leak in the #2 cylinder into the crankcase. Since the vehicle has been pampered and I am the single owner of the vehicle I find it difficult to believe that this if from fair wear and tear. I just going to change out the spark plug as I believe this is an original compression loss to the engine since manufacture. I expect it to function as before with the new plug. If not then I suspect there is a component function manufacturer flaw in the honing process of the #2 cylinder oversizing the cylinder.

My check engine light has come on several times after getting gas. I believe the newly designed flap at the mouth of the gas tank has flaws. Several times my OnStar report has mentioned a problem with the fuel system when my check engine light is on, which is why I have deduced the problem to having a malfunctioning gas tank flap. When Chevy re-designed the vehicles without gas caps and created this new flap, I believe it is causing the check engine light to come on. However, every time I take it to a mechanic I'm charged about $100 diagnostic fee. I'm not confident air is not getting into the fuel line, either.
