Tahoe

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,000 miles

2018 Chevy Tahoe with 77,000 miles and A/C went out. Found a freon leak using a UV flashlight at a weld on Condenser in upper driver side. There is a special cover adjustment #17336 from GM that will cover the cost for replacing this defective condenser but its only for 2015-2017, so of course my warranty is out and my 2018 Tahoe is not covered (even though its the same defective condenser in it). Needed the AC fixed so had local dealer replace for only $1025. Freaking ridiculous.

Tahoe PPV 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

The air conditioning compressor cracks and fails on Chevy Tahoe's and Suburban's for several years. From about 2014 to my 2018 and beyond the air conditioning compressor fails/cracks. It's a known problem with GM, however they fail to recall or warranty it and produce the same defective part to replace the bad one. Use after market replacements or you may be replacing it again after a short time.

I have filed a claim through LemonAuto.com

The repair shop I used had 2 in last week for this problem and another one coming in this week. All Tahoe's or Suburban's. I used a non-GM repair shop so I didn't get the GM part as a replacement.
