Tahoe Z71 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

chevy Tahoe Z71, has had a ticking noise in the engine for a few years, while having the oil changed- mechanic told me there has been issues with "lifters" in this engine - engine - will reduce cylinders to save gas mileage - that causes the lifters to bend... now the engine needs to be replaced and ex-warranty company doesn't want to cover the engine..Chevy knows of this problem and wont do anything about it.
