My [XXX] and myself were going down the interstate and my Tahoe started to sputter and the gas pedal no longer worked. I had to get over to the shoulder of the interstate because my vehicle would not accelerate. It turned off as I was navigating to the shoulder. Thankfully I was able to get there safely without causing an accident. The vehicle completely turned off and would not crank leaving us stranded on the side of the road. I called my husband because I did not know what to do. I kept trying to start the vehicle and it would sputter, but not start. Finally after multiple attempts it cranked up and I was able to get home. The vehicle has not been inspected yet by a dealership; it will be taken first thing in the morning. Instrument panel has failed twice and is unresponsive. The gauges move and stay to the left after moving left to right. All lights begin to cycle through error messages. I have video of the issue both times it happened. When it occurs, you don't know your speed you have to guess, the full tank reads empty etc., and it is dangerous to back up. The vehicle has been diagnosed by one independent mechanic and is currently at the dealership. There was no warning before the instrument cluster failed other than a cycling through of warning messages service transmission check 4X4, service suspension system, service Power Steering Drive with care. -The center screen goes in and out. -When in reverse, the rear camera is black, the screen blinks intermittently. - Dealer has stated that the wires are put on incorrectly- if that is the case, I am not sure who would have done that other than the manufacturer. -previously reported there was a strong gasoline smell in the cabin that made it really hard to breathe. Dealer corrected. Right passenger side is intermittently wet with no cause from the interior creating stale smells, making it hard to breathe. It is important to note this is the side where the electrical wires are "put in incorrectly" according to the dealer. I also have a video of what occurs

Check Engine Light Came On. Upon Diagnosis', the engine is misfiring, lifters are not performing correctly and there are critical engine alerts and an estimate of 11,000 to fix. 2021 - 83,000 miles v8 - 5.3 NOT the 6.2 and no one will help me bc my power train expires. I am the only owner. Second brand new Tahoe ai bought from this dealership and they are doing nothing to help.

Check engine light comes on. Car suddenly stalls and engine shutters, shuts off and on. Goes into limp mode as engine shutters at about 15 miles per hour. GM has not included this 2021 Tahoe which is the same exact condition under Product Safety Recall N212332040 "Stall While Driving". That recall was issued at the same time or month as this Tahoe was built and sold and should have been included. This Tahoe was towed to the dealer and GM has not been able to supply parts. The Tahoe will soon have been at the dealer for 60 days with no solution. The recall build dates should be expanded to include all GM vehicles with this defect. It is explained as: "The fuel pump power control modules in these vehicles may contain a supplier manufacturing defect that can cause the fuel pump to fail or operate intermittently, interrupting the flow of fuel to the engine. If the engine does not receive adequate fuel, the vehicle may unexpectedly stall. The driver may see a check engine light, receive an OnStar notification that a Diagnostic Trouble Code has been set, or experience a rough running engine. The vehicle may also be placed into a reduced power mode. A vehicle stall without warning could increase the risk of a crash, especially at high speeds"

On May 14, 2023 I was on a trip driving the Tahoe (midnight blue Tahoe in the pictures) about 60 mph, on highway 41 (middle of nowhere, no cell reception) south of kettleman city, CA when, without any warning or symptoms of any problem whatsoever, the engine lost propulsion and died. I was able to coast onto the shoulder and tried starting it. It started again and I continued driving and about 35 minutes later I stopped at a red light on Highway 41 in Lemoore, CA. Again the Tahoe engine died without warning and would not restart. When I tried starting it I could smell a burning smell. The engine cranked but wouldn-??t start, and then the check engine light came on. I was at a stoplight on a major highway and was unable to move the vehicle, and was scared to sit in it, so I put on the vehicle hazard lights, got out of the car and ran to the side of the road for safety. Luckily I did not have my children with me. I called 911 and a police officer came and parked behind my vehicle with his lights on so hopefully no other vehicles would hit it. A tow truck was immediately dispatched as high priority by the police. I had it towed to Hedricks Chevrolet dealership in Clovis, California, who informed me there was metal parts in the oil and that the engine was destroyed and had to be replaced. It took several months to get the engine replaced and in the meantime, I bought a new 2023 Cadillac Escalade so I would have a vehicle to drive. The Cadillac Escalade ended up having an extremely similar problem (and I will file a separate report for that vehicle). A few months later when the Tahoe replacement engine was installed I picked up the Tahoe from the dealership and sold it to Carmax.

I was driving the vehicle, exiting the parking lot when the engine and all electrical components turned off. This could have easily caused and accident as there were multiple vehicles that had to go around me while I tried to restart the vehicle. The engine would crank but not start up and left me stranded in the middle of the road AND in the middle of two lanes. When I finally got the vehicle towed several days later (which was not easy because in order to put the transmission in neutral without the engine being on, a special tool is needed) I took it to the dealership. They confirmed it was the fuel controller that went bad for the second time. The first time the vehicle was stuck in my garage at home with the same symptoms. They apparently replaced it with another faulty part that is a ticking time bomb. I have no faith that this won't happen again.

Fuel Pump Module Failure at 27k miles, experienced total loss of power while driving. GM issued a recall for this part in other 2021 Tahoes, but said my vehicle is not included in the recall. Researching online this seems to be a large problem with this model year, yet they did not recall all vehicles. Clearly mine was effected.

Driving at 35 MPH and the engine cutout and stopped on 8 November 2024. I was able to pull over safely as I was on Vandenberg Space Force Base, but at highway speeds in traffic this would have been very dangerous without power. The local GM dealership at Lompoc, CA confirmed the fuel pump control module failed, which caused the loss of engine power. There was a recall for the 2021 Tahoe fuel pump control module, but my VIN was not included in this recall. Currently the fuel pump module is not in stock and GM has no estimation for when the part would be recieved

This is in addition to complaint # 11621324 The dealer now says it is the FUEL PUMP MODULE that is bad. Same item as on previous recall. They say it will be covered under emission warranty but not the fuel pump. At $1500 for fuel pump. However - they replaced fuel pump before discovering the module issue. They either did not test fuel pump properly, or, fuel pump was not bad, only the module. Or, if bad, the module caused the fuel pump to fail. Either way the fuel pump should be covered under this module recall too as a related cause from the faulty module(s) that were recalled.

Vehicle has 10,800 miles. The vehicle repeatedly failed to start. Towed to GM dealership. They say the fuel pump has failed. They say it is not covered (beccause my VIN isn't within the recalls that already exist for this exact same problem). The cost is over $1,200. I contacted Chevy corporate and they offered to cover 30%. The dealership is still awaiting the part(s) with no provided delivery date. This could have caused a serious MV accident if it had failed while driving. The vehicle gave no warning of this failure.

Engine would not start. When pressing the start button, engine would turn over but would only rough idle for a few moments then turn off. Called garage and had vehicle towed. Mechanic advised computer showed defective fuel pump power control module. Mechanic advised GM has recall N212332040 for defective fuel pump power control module but my VIN is not included. Mechanic ordered fuel pump power control module from GM and replaced on my vehicle. This corrected the problem. I am requesting my VIN to be added to the recall and GM to pay for the part, labor and towing.

It-??s happened about 10 times since I-??ve owned the car but the dealer can-??t recreate it so we are out of luck. The vehicle accelerates on its own. Scenario 1-??with constant light steady acceleration, it will lurch forward like I-??ve stomped on the accelerator a bit, for about a second then go back to my normal input. Scenario 2, same lurch but this time while coming to a stop at a stop sign WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ONLY. scenario 3-??I-??ve been using the adaptive cruise control and had it disengaged by braking, coming to a stop, then parking and turning the vehicle off. Then after getting back in and starting up and slowly pulling forward, the cruise control suddenly and abruptly renegages and attempts to accelerate to the last demanded setpoint. Image this scenario pulling out of a spot at a crowded gas station with pedestrians. I almost ran someone the hell over just now at the gas station and I-??ve had enough. The dealer won-??t do anything and when I called Chevy engineering they put zero effort into it, it was a 20 second phone call stating if it can-??t be reproduced at the dealer there-??s nothing they can do. This is absolutely completely 100% dangerous and unacceptable
