The ongoing and unresolved system failures associated with the PIT6393E IVE Radio issue affecting my 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe [ Z71 Duramax]. Despite this being a brand-new vehicle — and before I have even made my first payment — multiple key systems remain non-functional.
Ongoing System Failures
The entire Google built-in package is missing.
The phone does not auto-connect upon vehicle start.
Audio presets are wiped every time the vehicle is turned off.
The tow-mode camera fails to activate when turn signal indicators are engaged.
Wi-Fi hotspot cannot connect.
Prior Steps and Findings
I have already been escalated to a Tier 3 help ticket with OnStar and have made two service visits to my dealership regarding these problems. During the most recent visit, the dealership attempted to install Google built-in manually, but the effort was unsuccessful.
Following their consultation with GM Technical Support, the service representative advised me that no hardware replacements are authorized and that consumers must wait for an over-the-air (OTA) update. Unfortunately, no timeframe or expected release date was provided.
I have since discovered that a related issue, PIT6393D, was issued back in April 2024, indicating that this defect has existed for months without resolution or communication to customers.
These problems have caused me to miss work, spend additional money traveling to and from the dealership, and still have no resolution.
Safety and Functional Impact
One of the main reasons I purchased this vehicle was its towing package, as I frequently travel with a toy hauler. On a recent trip, I was towing alone, and without functioning camera and connectivity systems, it was unnerving and unsafe.
I also purchased a dash-cam system for safety and security; however, due to these system failures, it must be set up as new each time I start the vehicle, preventing continuous recording. As a result, I am now facing a lapse in the dash-cam warranty, entirely due to GM’s unresolved system defect.
