3000 miles and about 6 months after the warranty was up the car blew its head gasket. Symptoms of the problem was bubble sounds coming from the heater core when accelerating from a stop. I called Chevrolet customer service and they said in a snotty annoyed tone, "What do you want Chevrolet to do about this?" I was so angry. At first they offered to pay 50%, then I told them, "I will never buy another Chevrolet again as long as I live on this planet." Then the customer service person told me that she "misread" her notes and said that Chevrolet would pay 75% of the bill.
Suburban Chevrolet in Sandy, Oregon originally told me that it would cost $2,500 to fix. After they pulled off the cylinder head the service writer lady said, "Oh, its a manufacturing flaw in the cylinder head, it will be another $1,000 for a new cylinder head!" I said, "You just told me that it was a manufacturing flaw in the cylinder head why would I pay for your manufacturing flaw?" The service manager got the area rep. from Chevrolet involved and they paid for the entire thing!
I will never forget how uncaring the Chevrolet Customer Service people were. I was so angry at them I said just wait until all of you are in the unemployment line wondering how you got here. Well, my prediction of the future was not long in coming. General Motors is now "Government Motors" and controlled by Obama.
Oh, by the way. This 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer LTZ blew its head gasket again about 30,000 miles later. Chevrolet did not care one bit and offered no help what so ever!
I now only buy from Toyota and Acura. I have had two Acuras and one Toyota. These cars are remarkable in that they have had no problems at all, none!!!
