Trailblazer LTZ 3.2L V6

heres the deal transfer making all these weird noises(in the front drivers side) So I stop driving it was told it was caused from 4wd would haveta replace it blah blah blah. So instead they said they could make it 2wd. I was game for that so they did. Needless to say I started driving it again. It was making the same noise again, it aint been a couple months and now cant drive it again. Guy who made it 2wd don't return my calls, so I'm back to square one. So I went to college for automotive but because my back I didn't wanna have to do this but, I get everything off the front and I get the cv out of drivers side and reach in there and theres all these little needle bearings in there. Mind you everyones telling me theres no needle bearings in there that it musta ate one of the gears in there teeth off. I was told by another shop just trash it and get another vehicle. I dunno I'm furious that Chevy don't give 2 sh*ts about their products unless they are wanting you to buy it then its a hand shake and later its a swift kick in the ass but... you could always get a newer vehicle, trade it in and we will sell you what we know is garbage and start this process all over again. So now I'm taking the transfer case out and apart to see whats going on in there exactly. Ill update

Truck not shifting out of 2 wheel drive mode then indicator light on switch went out. This had me checking fuses and strangely enough all were still good. Auto beef was a huge help with advice on removing a fuse #8 (ATC) for a 2 minute hold time. Had a similar occurrence with a 2002 Envoy only the envoy shifted intermittently and to random drive modes ie.,2WH,4WH,4WL.2WH,and N.This was especially bad when the vehicle went into neutral. Replaced the selector switch first to no avail then the transfer case motor (TCM). Selector switch was $35.00 then $160.00 for the rebuilt TCM. Problem resolved upon removing and then reinserting the unblown fuse. I'm told this wakes up the computer and all is well so far. This is just a confirmation of a problem / fix for a similar problem another client had. Hope this saves someone else both expense and hassle.

Shifted 2002 Trailblazer, wouldn't go out. Had to pull fuses for it to transfer back to 2wd. Yesterday, hit a bump going 10 mile an hour it switched itself into 4 hi. Turned it off and back on it went back to 2wd. The switch never moved. Today going 75 mph down the interstate the trailblazer service 4 wheel drive light came on and then it transferred to 4 high. Pulled over to side of road and took me 1/2 hour to get it back into 2 wheel drive. No open recalls on my vehicle. Very angry this is bull!

I makes me mad that Chevrolet would not help to repair the problem even though there was a recall on the power train: transfer case (4 Wheel Drive) in Oct 2001. They could only tell me that the recall is at the deadline of Nov. 20, 2008/ 100,000 miles. Even though the recall VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 4WD. THE CALIBRATION OF THE TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE COULD CAUSE INSUFFICIENT HIGH SPEED GEAR ENGAGEMENT. THE CONSEQUENCES: IF THE GEAR IS NOT ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE CAN ROLL WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS IN "PARK" AND A CRASH COULD RESULT WITHOUT WARNING.

I think that the company should fix the problems that occurs on a recall NO matter when it happens or how miles is on a vehicle it should be covered at anytime. A RECALL IS A RECALL NO MATTER WHAT TIME FRAME THERE IS OR HOW MANY MILES IT IS STILL CHEVROLET PROBLEM THAT STILL OCCURRING. I have only owned two chevy vehicle all my life and this is the worst.
