In 2005 my 2002 Trailblazer - had smelling fumes, ses light, and a bad diagnosis from the dealer. Partly due to the codes coming up for the evap system and related purge. After several resets of the ses light, one tech found gas dripping from under the the tank. The tank was replaced at no charge. In 2007 the same problems again - had smelling fumes, ses light, when dealer was contacted they said that the warranty had expire. We showed them a letter that staid that this was an actual problem and that Chevrolet will replace the fuel at the end they repaced the fuel tank at no charge.

I have had two 2002 Trailblazers both developed gas leaks from the gas tank. GM did not agree to repair either one.

I kept smelling the strong odor of gasoline in the garage or even in the parking lot for about a day after I filled my fuel tank on my 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. There sometimes was a wet spot on the garage floor near the filler cap that appeared to be gasoline. The "check engine soon" light eventually came on. The dealer could find nothing wrong when they pressure-tested the fuel system but the computer fault code indicated an evaporative emissions failure. They re-set the light, but the problem persisted and the light soon came back on the next time I re-fueled. I read somewhere on the nets website about other Trailblazer owners who had a broken check ball in their filler necks. I suggested this to the dealer who confirmed that this was my problem too. They charged me nearly $300 to repair the tank neck. I feel that this is the result of defective emissions control device and therefore should be covered under warranty. (I have only 50 K miles on the vehicle). At what point does something like this become a recall since this seems to be happening to others as well?

: the contact stated while driving various speeds on various road conditions, the odor of gasoline was present in the cab. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who determined the fuel fittings needed to be replaced. Afterwards, the problem persisted. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who determined the gasoline storage tank assembly needed to be replaced, but the problem persisted. The manufacturer was notified.

The vehicle was leaking gas two months ago, resulting in the replacement of the fuel tank the first time, in last two months, the fuel tank was replaced by the dealer. The vehicle did have a recall dealing with the fuel lines. The fuel line repair was done twice as well. There is still a smell of gas in the vehicle at this time. The dealer states that currently there is no problem with gas tank. The dealer did state previously that there was no problem with the gas tank. And then replaced it. Consumer had to wait for the dealer to get parts to make the repair. The vehicle has been into the dealership at least three times for the same problem. Consumer feels this problem is a result of the recall repair work. The problem first occurred after recall of fuel line was first done. Recall id number 2016.

4 wheel drive failure light on dash board and "4 wheel drive full" and "4 wheel drive low" light keep flashing and when I placed truck in park and shut off truck, it lunged backward. Gas tank wouldn't take gas and the last time it spit gas out and out onto pavement. Brakes don't seem to stop very well and I now have a pulsating feeling under my foot when I brake.

Consumer states that while driving the check engine came on. Had vehicle serviced and was informed that the gas cap was loose. They tightened and the it light came on again. Took vehicle back and found out that there was a hole in the filler pipe that was leaking fuel fumes.
