The stabilizer link can only be checked with the wheel under pressure. But if the truck is on the lift, the links will feel tight. Set up a jack under the control arm and you can see the link is loose. Also the lower control arm bushing was bad and was replaced under warranty but after 80000 miles the upper control arm bushing was wiped out. I did my front brakes and I took the upper control arm and moved it by hand. It was that loose, and you have to change the whole control arm and bushing for this arm and you should change the ball joint - you have to remove it anyway

I have a knocking noise coming from the front of the truck, towards the drivers side, when going over wash board surfaces. It is not the normal sound you would hear when hitting bumps. This is something in the front knocking against something else in the front. I have taken it to the dealer- they say they can hear it, but do not know what is causing it. I have little faith that they will ever figure it out and it is very inconvenient to take it to the dealer because I need to get a rental car - only to find out they can't figure it out.

If anyone out there is having similiar problems and has gotten it taken care of, please let me know how it was fixed..

Thanks
