I got out of my car at work and left the keys in the car and when I shut the door the car locked by itself . After this incident I always take my keys out of the car. Next the back passenger door would not catch when closed the panel had to be removed and messed with to get it to catch. now both doors in the rear do not open at all. I,m going to a mechanic tomorrow to see what the problem might be .I listen to Click and Clack the tappet brothers on NPR radio and a simular problem arose with another model of car and they suggest that it is probably a broken wire somewhere in the drivers door since it is the main system for locking the doors on the car. I don't have time myself to do this because I'm on the road driving motorcoach for a company. I am now afraid that the car will lock me in and I will have to break the window to get out so now I have a window punch in the car in case the car lock me in. I am getting fed up with these stupid problems arising with no warning. I still love how the car handles, but Iam starting to think about getting a different car and not a Chevy. I want to buy American made vehicles , why can't Chevy recall and fix the kinks in their products? I was hoping to drive this baby till it had super miles on it with tender loving care. I don't know about that now!

Went to a relatives house and my kids couldn't get out of the car when we parked. So I tried to unlock the door myself with the remote and the window switch...nothing! So, I had to unlock manually...when I did, the alarm went off and I had to stop it. Then I took the keys out of the ignition to get the baby out of the truck, and laid them in the seat, closed the driver door, went to get her, and she was locked in all over again. Good thing is I had my driver's side window cracked and we had to stick a large metal wire through it over to the passenger door and push the manual lock (the buttons did not work). and then the alarm went off again! Good grief! And they didn't recall that issue either!

On Dec 20th, 2005 at 5a.m. my son and I were leaving to see my father in the hospital. He had suffered a heart attack and was undergoing emergency open heart surgery. It was snowing, icy, and 30 degrees, and we were understandably upset. I ran out, put my purse, cell phone, and paperwork needed for the hospital in the truck, started it to warm it up, and then went back inside to get my son who was then 11. We were rushing to see my Dad before he went in for surgery as we were all frightened he might not make it through. I lo9cked the door to our house and as we headed across the lawn heard a "thunk" from the truck. When I tried to open the door, it was locked. Obviously the noise we heard was the truck locking itself. Not only were the keys IN THE IGNITION....it was RUNNING. I was now locked out, freezing, had no cell phone, no purse or money....and my son was sobbing because we would not get to see his grandfather.

Thank God I was able to "break in" to our home through a window, get keys to the old s-10 blazer I had not yet sold, and took that to the hospital...arriving just as they were wheeling my Dad away. (he did well and is still here 4 years later, I'm happy to say.) The Trailblazer was left running in the driveway.....locked. I had to make 4 calls to roadside, because they just kept insisting it was "not possible" for the truck to lock when the key is in the ignition. Finally, I got one supervisor who said they would send a locksmith, but if it was "operator error" I would have to foot the bill. The locksmith actually wrote me a note for Chevy letting them know this was an electrical system failure, and that the only way he could get into the truck was to use a tool to get inside my window, hit the window button to put it down, and then MANUALLY unlock the door...even with the truck off and the remote in hand the locks would not operate.

I spent the next year and a half leaving a window cracked or the back hatch popped to warm the truck up....the dealership only gave me one key and one remote.
