I am the first and only owner of a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Around 25,000 miles, ses light came on, got serviced under warranty with a burned out O2 sensor as the cause. At 30, 000 miles, the ses light came on again. I took it to the dealership (out of warranty) and paid $80 for diagnostics. Service rep came back saying vehicle was fine, codes were in the computer's history and no problems exist. Two days later, ses light pops back up. Due to the weather, I garaged my Trailblazer and began to smell fuel inside my house, and was even stronger in the garage. Raw fuel was leaking out from under the gas tank, and parts were doused. I call GM, explain the problem and basically was told there were no recalls/special repairs etc. On 2004 models. They did call the dealership and will have a rep call me back.

2004 Trailblazer ls with code P0455 diagnosed with broken/cracked seam on fuel tank inlet neck. Very strong fuel odors both inside and outside vehicle. Chevy acknowledged this same problem with the 2002 models via campaign #05012. This is a safety issue, can leaking fuel and/or breathing fumes be deemed as safe? Chevy needs to step up and proactively fix the problem on all Trailblazer models. I know both NHTSA and Chevy know of this problem already, so are liable if nothing is done.

- the contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet trail Blazer ext with an odometer reading of 40,000 miles. The failure mileage was 36,000. The first incident involved leak in a fuel hose and the second was a crack in the fuel tank. The dealer advised the contact to call and complain to NHTSA since the 2004 are not under the recall, and the 2002 are under recall for the same issue. The dealer had temporarily repaired the vehicle. The contact smells fumes while driving. The fumes are detectable while driving at any speed. The contact did not hit anything to cause the damage. The contact has repair invoices and pictures.
