Well this is number six of the same type of event; the passenger side low-beam headlight going out because the socket melted. Only by this time it had happened again, making it a total of eight times as of 03/07/2014. I know better than to expect a response of any type, positive or negative, from GM.
So, I will keep on replacing sockets when the cops get down on me and will not purchase another GM product. Sure it is a small thing and look at how good they are doing otherwise. Yeah, sure. They are now partnering with China to build "The American Car: Chevrolet". and would seem to only care about selling their product without consideration for the customer.
I'm going to stop repeating the same old story. Suffice it to say I've complained here six times about eight similar events, and I'm confident there will be more. Changing a light bulb is not a big deal. But, to me, GM's failure to be responsive to their (former) customer is.
Y'know, I have found that the Isuzu company not only makes a good product but is also responsive in the way they support it. I have only had to deal with "normal wear items", no failures, but weather they do the servicing or I do, they have been helpful and informative. None of GM's cavalier "Bring it in" attitude.

This is number five of seven similar events...namely the passengers side low-beam headlight going out due to the socket melting, that GM doesn't show any interest in doing anything to correct.
This time a tried using a conducting gel in the socket to see if that would stop the arcing and etching on the bulb contact and maybe stop the melting. Nope! I did make it easier to get the bulb back out of the socket than on previous incidents.
Always, the passenger side, low-beam, headlight socket. The engineers at GM have to know what's causing it but won't spend the time or effort to do anything about it. If they would just send me information showing how to fix it I would be happy to do the work myself. Nope, that would probably cut into an executive's time on the golf course.
A flyer or e-mail would have been a lot less that the loss of any sale of a GM product to me.

I lost a headlamp bulb, every three months. Finally had an independent replace the whole receptacle. It lasted more than 3 months, go figure!!!! Chevy said nothing was wrong with the headlamps. FYI - the plastic melts VERY EASILY! Replace receptacles with the new ones if you are having this problem.

My headlamps have just gone out. The highbeams still work, but low is gone. I have checked the bulbs and they look fine. A gentleman on this forum mentioned a possible grounding wire, but since all the wires are connected within the housing and then connect to one harness, how could i check that?, and why then would the other lamps work? If someone knows where i might go next, please help...

I started out on November 26th at 9pm on what i thought was the beginning of an exciting trip to see my family for Thanksgiving. An hour within the ride i looked down to check my speed and it read that i was doing 120mph. My first thoughts was "WHAT IN THE HELL!"..now im wondering if my car will start malfunctioning and eventually stop running. I continued driving because i still had 7 hrs to travel to get to my destination. I looked again and the speedometer had headed south pointing straight down. This was very scary because i have to now travel 7hrs in the dark not knowing my speed or if something else would happen to my car. THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL!!!!
Also my sister gas gauge has stopped working on her trailblazer.

A hit from the back from a unknown car with a man yelling"YOU DON'T HAVE ANY BRAKE LIGHTS". I quickly get out the car realizing that this accident was my fault i didn't know that my brake light weren't working. The man didnt really have any major damage so he was generous and let it go. I took the car to dealer and they told me something on the switchboard had to be replaced which cost me $300. Two weeks later someone waiting for a parking space at work told me that i didn't have any reverse lights. At this point i'am fired up b/c i just got the brake lights fixed. I called the dealer and they told me that they had nothing to do with this new problem and they would not fix it for free. Also my head lights keep going out over and over one at time sometimes at the same time. THIS REALLY IS A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE A RECALL.

TAILLIGHTS BULBS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES ALREADY, FROM 2006-2008.
ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED ONCE! CHECKING ON A RECALL.

My dash board lights kept flickering and my headlight went out. I changed the headlight several times and it still kept going out. My dad checked it out and the ground wiring is bad which happens on alot of these trailblazers. The ground wire needs to be redirected.

I really have enjoyed this vehicle. Over the last year the low beam headlights intermittently will not work. Eventually over the next few drive cycles they will start working again. Sometimes when it happens the entire dash is out as well including the speedometer. It can be dangerous.
I would like to know the fix. Unfortunately it usually happens at night or when I cannot drive right over to the dealership for a diagnosis. Any help would be appreciated.
