I bought this vehicle in Dec 2010 for my birthday, then started smelling gas so took it back to dealer and they replaced the floater in gas tank and it was fine for awhile, then one day I went and filled up the tank, got in and started it up and it said empty and had the light on (when I knew it was full), since then I have had to rely on the miles to know if I still have gas, which is hard to do if you don't fill it up all the time. I am afraid of having my grandsons with me one day and running out of gas because it don't work..please recall this it is very dangerous to not know if you have enough gas when you have to go somewhere. This should not have happened since it was just fixed a few months ago. Will this be an ongoing problem? I grew up with Chevy's my dad use to say we were Chevy country and my uncle's vehicles were found on the road dead (Ford) I use to believe that Chevy was best vehicle made, but this is changing my mind.

Instrument cluster replaced 1 1/2 years ago because of faulty instrument and speedometer readings. January of 2011 gas gauge malfunctioning reads empty when tank has been filled, and continues to misread levels at all times.

I bought my 2005 Trailblazer in August 2008. In October 2008, the rear window hinge adhesive was separating causing the hatch to not close properly. This was replaced by the dealership. Now in September 2010 the same thing is happening. The rear window adhesive has completely disconnected from the hinge and the window does not close properly and has a possibility of completely falling off. When the entire rear door is opened now the hinge 'pops' up and hits the glass. The dealership is trying to find an appropriate adhesive to mend this problem and they say Chevy will not pay for another glass replacement. The first replacement came from the factory with the hinge connected to the glass. This seems like a factory defect. I know there are other Chevy vehicles of different years that have experienced this problem and worse when the doors did fall off or the glass scattered due to the poor adhesive on the hinge. This will cost over $800 to replace if this cannot be resolved and there is no guarantee the adhesive on the new glass will hold and I will have no recourse.

I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer lt and live in birmingham, al. On my way home from church on a Sunday morning, I encountered a severe issue with my speedometer. As I was driving up on a police officer I looked at my speedometer, which said I was doing 70 so I began slowing down but my speedometer didn't - it continued to go up. I started hitting my brakes thinking that would make the speedometer go back down but it didn't. as I pulled off the interstate and stopped at a red light, the speedometer kept going up to 110 mph. Then as the light turned green, I started again and the speedometer went straight to the bottom facing the floor. I thought when I get home and turn the car off, the speedometer would reset itself. Well... it didn't!! I don't know what I'm going to do now! the economy is so !@#$% bad that I'm in the middle of a foreclosure and now this crap happens! GM should recall this faulty issues as it is a dangerous situation. If you don't know how fast you are going... how the !@#$% do you drive without a speedometer unless you are looking to get in trouble by the law!!

My 2005 Trailblazer instrument panel constantly fails - the speedometer stops working which is a safety issue. The gas gauge has been fixed once already and is now broken again. The vehicle has power surges which is another safety issue. The transmission shifts the car up and down when trying to slow down causing power surges. This is another safety issue. The following are other issues which this model vehicle: Stereo cd player stopped working, the check engine light comes on when the gas cap light, the lights flicker also. I ought this vehicle used and with a cracked front bumper which the dealer didn't fix (dealer stuck a little bondo on area and repainted it so I thought it was a new bumper when I accepted the car after repair. It cracked in a matter of days) and I know this was caused due to the surges in power. A severe safety issue. The vehicle has serious electrical problems the Chevrolet should stand behind and fix. It is not fair to the consumer. I have checked the web and have read many, many other similar complaints. Chevy owners should fill a class action lawsuit against Chevrolet if they don't do a recall and fix these problems. I experience a fender bender accident when my vehicle didn't stop and bumped another cars back bumper causing an accident and an insurance claim. I am fed up with this vehicle but can't afford to replace it. Linda vanauken

My speedometer is acting bizarre, it just goes round and round, started abut 2 months ago. I understand that the 2003 & 2004 were recalled for the Chevy Trailblazer. Now within the last week, my gas gage has gone crazy not showing accurately, first on empty light on low fuel, then while I'm driving light will go off and it registers to show full take when actually I may have 1/2 tank. I took to repair shop each item is over $300 for repair. He suggested to look into see if the censor was recalled for the gas, and that 03 & 04 was recalled for the speedometer and if 05's were being recalled.
