OK, so I guess I'm lucky that my problem didn't start til 75K! There are many things I like about my TB, but I'll probably never buy Chevy again! Here's the kicker; I had a 2000 Blazer before this car, and it had the SAME problem! So GM has known about this for 10 years!!!??? Yeah, no wonder they're broke...

To fix the fuel gauge reading empty all the time, you need to drop the fuel tank out. Make sure the tank is empty. You can siphon out the gas if you need to. So drop the fuel tank, pull out the fuel pump assembly. It is an assembly because it contains the pump, sending unit, and filter. The sending unit looks like an arm with a rubber float at the end of it. It needs to make contact with the coil. The coil is like a variable resistor that sends a different signal to the gas gauge depending on which spot the arm contacts the coil. Make sure that it is making good contact with the coil.

It worked one day and the next it did not.
Now the seal on the oil in the transfer case is low, possible seal leak

This has been such a PITA (PAIN IN THE ASS) for me. I have children and all I need is to run out of gas with them in the car with me. I will never purchase anything from this maker ever again. This really needs to be recalled and obviously chevy is showing us what they think of their costumers.

Most frequent complaint on this vehicle. We live in a county with emissions testing, so even though I am perfectly capable of watching my mileage to gage the amount of fuel in the tank, the simple fact that the light was on caused my car to fail inspection due to stupid EPA simplistic guidelines. This was one of many electrical problems . Prior to this the ignition shorted out, the radio, the ignition a second time, the brake lights, the trunk latch control, and finally the main fuse panel for the entire electrical system.

I had my fuel gauge stop working. I still had an extended warranty on it so it only cost me a $100 deductible but I was without a car for 4 days while they worked on it. I heard that alot of other trailblazer owners have had the same problem. It would have cost close to $600 if it was not under warranty. This sounds like a Mfg defect and it should have been under recall.

I've had the fuel gauge not work for almost a year. When I fill up, the gauge doesn't move and I have to set my trip odometer to 0 each time. I can get about 300 miles to a tank of gas, but I should be able to look at my fuel gage for this. I've taken it to the dealer and they say it will cost about $800.00. They say they have to do a sweep of the gauges and then check to see if the fuel sender unit is working.
Really now!! I've read about many complaints of this problem with this vehicle. We are now in the market to buy another vehicle and I will not set foot on a Chevrolet dealer. Every person I come into contact with, I tell them not to buy a GM product. You want to buy American, but how can you with this kind of reliability. My Toyota truck has been the best vehicle I've ever purchased. I guess I'll be looking at Toyota products.

No wonder GM is in such a mess. I have had a lot of other problems with this car. Tach, speedo, wind noise, the list goes on. I traded in a 99 Monte Carlo with 110,000 miles on it . I never had ANY problems with it. This vehicle has pissed me off enough to end a life-long relationship with GM products.

If I would of known there were so many faulty things wrong with this vehicle, I would of
never bought it. Big pain for up keep. Fuel gauge keeps saying its empty and I never know how much gas is actually in it. This is NOT the first problem I have had with this
SUV.

I had already replace the air conditioning unit two years ago. Luckily it was covered under warranty. I have 43,000 miles on it, this year I had to replace the transmission lines. GM would only pay for the part $120.00, I had to pay labor of $350.00, the transmission lines were corroded and started to leak really bad. My Chevy dealer told me it was a common problem and that he recently replace three other Trailblazer lines. To ease my mind he told me luckily you didn't burn out the transmission. Why is it not covered? In August my fuel gauge stopped working it show empty all the time. Even with a full tank. I researched the internet and saw there are hundreds of complaints on this issue.
I have complained to GM Dealer, NHTSA and GM COMPLAINT HOTLINE with negative results in resolving the issue. It is time we get a voice to express our frustration towards GM. I call on everyone with this and any other problems you have with your Trailblazer to go to the CNN website. LOU DOBBS keeping them honest. Everyone watches CNN including the President of the United States. If we flood CNN with our complaints and direct them to other complaint sites they will investigate and find this is a very common problem and call GM on it.

Put in over 50.00 of gas and gas gauge went to E and low fuel light came on. Cannot get it to move back to full. Per one of my co-workers same issue happened to his trailblazer and will cost over 500.00 to repair.

I work as a CNA and I go home to home, so I completely rely on this vehicle to get me to and from my clients. Its really awful that every time I fill my tank, all of a sudden two days later if I haven't gone back to the gas station to fill up again my SUV Dies!!! This has cost myself a WRITE UP at work!!! And has cost my job financially!!!! I had purchased this vehicle in June 2008 and the Fuel indicator broke in September 2008! The dealer refused to fix it! I had gone over my Mileage Warranty!! This company knew what kind of job I did!!!There are so many more complaints that follow this including to 13 codes in the computer and just stalling out in traffic!!! I'll get back on tomorrow to rant about this stupid GM SUV!!!The Government should have never given GM a Bailout!!!!

I thought I was the only one experiencing problems with my vehicle. Not only is it the gas gauge. I had the water pump fixed and other things aren't working either. I had my vehicle shipped to Germany where I am now stationed and now Im stuck and don't know what to do. I need my transportation. Germany is not a walk around country where you can go from point A to B. And not to mention I have a pregnant wife who I also need to transport around.

I looked up 2005 Chevy Trailblazer recalls today as this is the 3rd time I ran out of gas and as with everyone elses complaints I'm amazed that Chevy isn't recalling this problem. The first time my gas gauge stopped working it was under warranty the second time it stopped working it was just after the 50,000 mile warranty expired. I purchased the extended warranty when I purchased my vehicle but I was told it only covered it up to 50,000 miles, (what a rip off) anyway, shortly after that my speedodometer stopped working as well. Later when I had to replace the battery I realized that, that gauge didn't work either since it never registered anything other then being normal. My Temperature gauge doesn't work either and the only reason I found that out is that I started to have an oil leak and when I took it in they told me my water pump wasn't working. I have 77,000 miles on the truck right now with all of these problems I'm having you would think that would be enough but a couple of months ago my air conditioning unit went out also. How does Chevy intend to stay in business if they can't produce a decent running vehicle. I am a third generation of die hard Chevy family members but I don't think I can stay loyal to a company that doesn't stand behind their product.

This is a real pain because I never know how much gas I have. I have run out of gas 8 times and every time I thought I put enough gas in it. this again is a real pain in the as_. I was on my way to work and as I said before I am a single Mom I need my Job.

I test drove this vehicle on this date without any problems. Nice condition, drove great and excellent price so I decided to purchase. Filled it up that evening and my fuel light came on and the gauge went to E and the speedometer went haywire after about 5 miles. Took it back to the dealership the next morning and they kept it overnight and supposedly repaired it. Approximately 2 weeks later, I put the truck into park and the gauges went crazy again and it shut down. I tried to crank it several times and it would not start. I had to have it towed to the dealership where not only did the gauges have to be repaired "again" but the fuel pump went out also. Had I known about these problems from reading other complaints I think I would have chosen another vehicle. I had a 1993 model of another of Chevy vehicles and it drove great for over 285,000 miles. If only they made their newer model vehicles just as good as their older ones they probably wouldn't have so many upset customers. I really am disappointed in Chevrolet.
I also don't see how they can say this is not a safety issue when people are running out of gas and don't know how fast they are going. If you try to adjust your speed just to keep up with other traffic, you could end up speeding and an accident could occur. If you run out of gas and are unable to get the vehicle out of traffic you could get hit. I could go on but why should I. It appears that the consumer doesn't matter anymore. Its just all about the bottom line for the company.
RECALL!!! RECALL!!! RECALL!!!

this is the worst truck i have ever owned. the minute the 3 year warranty was over, it started sucking money from my pocketbook.
i will not purchase a Chevrolet again.

have the same problem, what a pain, never trust how much gas I have in the auto, should be a recall

GM is not willing to do anything about the check engine light that is on, the fuel gauge that always reads Empty and the speedometer that gets stuck. I cannot pass the emissions which means that I can not update my registration which means that I will be fined. GM knows that they have a faulty product!

The last thing that I'm going to do is pay $700 to replace a sh*^ty fuel sending unit just so that it can go out again at 100,000K miles in addition to a speedometer that's gone completely haywire! My fuel gauge hasn't worked since 50K miles and now I'm on 90K. Since I'm never going to have fixed because of the cost I've been tracking my mileage on the tacometer to 275 miles before refilling. Unfortunately I'll never be able to just stop and put $10 or $20 in the tank...I ALWAYS have to fill up all the way otherwise I'll run out of gas...again! Sometimes I can go to 300 miles if most of the driving is on the freeway, but 275 leaves me with a good cushion if I can't find a gas station right away. This is the last piece of crap Chevy that I'm ever going to buy....cheaply made parts, expensive replacements, and they seem to be never ending.
