My 2005 Trailblazer has been an electrical nightmare. First it was a bad air pump and check valve, then the gas gauge quite and the electric connecter to the heater fan melted. Later a coil went bad. I spent 1,000.00 dollas and still have no gas gauge.Within a year the air pump kept running with the key off and killed the battery. Now I am back to square one. Thank goodness this poor excuse of a chevy will be paid for at the end of this year.I Feel guilty to think that this truck may end up in the hands of anyone else.

Same as other complaints, fuel gauge started going haywire after a fill up. Would show completely empty even though $$$ had just been put into it. Would gradually move to F after driving for a while, but then would move to E everytime we stopped. Now it shifts around randomly. Very annoying. Will see if covered by Extended Warranty.

I just called the NHTSA myself to report the same problem with my 05 Trailblazer. Have been dealing with the issue up to this point by filling up every week and resetting the trip, but it is becoming an unreliable method as I almost ran out recently at 180 miles when I should be able to get around 225 on one tank. I want GM to do something about this, it's obviously a known issue and a recall needs to occur, because we as consumers shouldn't be responsible for paying on a defective part. If enough of us file a complaint, we hopefully will see some action, especially if GM wants to turn their image around. With Toyota's recent problems, now is the time for them to concentrate on customer service and strengthening the Chevrolet brand name. My complaint will be on the website as well; I will try and update as things progress.

This is really important, I mean how can you tell how much gas is in your car if the gas gauge does not work, and I live 30 miles from the next town.

Bought this vehicle in January 2006. Windshield began leaking, took it to the dealer and they supposedly fixed it. In 2009 after many months of leaking I paid for a new windshield. The maintenance light came on. Had it hooked up to computers tried a couple of fixes and it came back on. Now the gas light is almost always on, the tank almost always shows empty even after filling. Or it will move up a little and go back to empty. The front turn signals won't work and haven't for a couple of years.

GM did not cover it so i keep track of my mileage the gauge will bounce between 1/2 and1/4 but most of the time it is on E the blazer gets about 350 mpg so i fill up at 300 and reset my mileage if i for get to set it i will drive for the day and fill it on my way home and don't for get to let your sister no about the problem before she uses toe blazer because you will need to run her some gas in a can if you don't

The Moneypit, Just after my 2005 was out of warranty the gas gauge stopped work, very common in Trailblazers. Driving by miles between fillups, resulted in a few walking activities. Letters to GM resulted in just that, activities in letter writing. Even to the point of asking me to take the Trailblazer to the DEALER, at $75.00 an hour ( no estimate on how much time) They would in fact tell me if my gas gage didn't work. However not fix it ( out of warranty) After several trips to the DEALER when the Trailblazer was still in warranty, for wind noise (not fixed), Chevy emblem defect (not fixed), trim molding pulled away (not fixed), why would I ever take a vehicle to a GM DEALER. Yet again buy one. I have purchased six new Chevys and still own eight Chevys, however my two Mustangs will never see another new one in my garage. I will call my Trailblazer the moneypit if you want to follow my other complaints.

I will NEVER buy another GM product again. The electrical system on this POS has been a problem for more than 2 years now. First, my heater quit working, then several lights on the instrument panel came on. Took it to the Chevy dealership and had it fixed for approx. $400. The lights were back on within 48 hours and when I called the garage they wouldn't look at it again without charging additional labor fees. My husband replaced the ignition switch and fixed most of the problems. However, not long after that the fuel gauge started to "bounce" a bit. It quit working totally over a year ago. I have had to keep track of mileage since then because I refuse to put any more $$ into this vehicle. I know it won't make a difference to GM if they loose one disgruntled customer. But my kids have each bought a vehicle within the past year. Think either of them bought a Chevy? NOT!!! If it weren't for the generosity of the federal government, GM would be defunct, and deservedly so. I am beyond ticked off!!!!

Well I have called local car dealer and they told me it was not a problem they knew about. I told them to just google it and they blew it off. Today my wife was driving and the car turned off. I went to her and it started. The ONSTAR adviser sent me an email for Feb warning me of the fuel delivery system needing attention. Not sure what to do with it. Owe too much and it drives fine except the fuel gauge and occasionally the speedometer stops working.

This is the second time I've fill my tank up and the empty light comes. The first time was in November 09. I actually ran out of gas at an intersection because I lost track of the mileage. The cops had to push me out of the intersection so the traffic could move, how embarrassing. So today I searched for others who had the same problem, found out their is an open investigation with the NHTSA, action number DP10001. It was opened Jan. 2010. Everyone needs to either call them or file there own complaint, maybe then we can get a recall for this and not have to pay for it out of our pockets. Here's a link to the nhtsa web site, hope it helps. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/defect/results.cfm?action_number=DP10001&SearchType=QuickSearch&summary=true

In 2009 I bought a 05' Trailblazer for my wife, I haven't had it a year and the fuel gauge has stopped working (always beeping to remind me to fill up, always shows as empty) fricen annoying, however I was living with it until my heater went out, then I took it in to have it fixed. We had to replace the fuel pump and sensor, $980.00 just to fix gas gauge and pump. Now Im finding out it will be about another $500 to $700 to fix the heater, WTF !

Ok well yes my speed gauge is all wacky and now my oil gauge and all that is messing up. I went to a suto shop and they say this is common with Chevy Trailblazers...he said he has fixed about 5 or 6 in the past month and I was like WHAT??!!! Of course you call Chevy and there is no recall...that is a bunch of bull...I am having to use my GPS to register my speed and then my gas gauge lets not even go there...I mean I have to put gas in my car every two days to be on the safe side cause that gauge won't work either...this is not the first issue I have had with this car...I think they should repair it for free!!!

I bought my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer last year (2009) with 64.000 miles. I bought this vehicle because it seemed like a good first vehicle. I was wrong! My family has always had Chevy and we have always had pretty good luck with them. My trailblazer on the other hand has new problems every month! First it was the check engine light coming on every other week, then it was the head lights dimming. Soon after my gas gauge went and now it shows E all the time! My rear air control module went and the lights on my driver door are already out! WTF! not to mention a hand full of other lights that are out on my dashboard/radio. it also has horrible gas mileage! im currently getting 13 MPG. i went into the dealership and asked them if there was anything I could do to improve this but they said there was nothing they or I could do about it. this truck has serious electrical problems and i will never again waste my money on a piece of crap trailblazer! None of the things i have mentioned are recalls so to replace these problems will cost way more than i can afford! i am only sixteen and i bought this truck thinking it was the perfect size and with lower miles it shouldn't have too many major problems. i was def. wrong! For all you people out there looking to buy a Chevy trailblazer, THINK AGAIN! Do not waste your money on this vehicle! This was a poorly build SUV and I regret buying it!

Chevy's are crap and I will NEVER purchase another one again. We also own a Chevy Cavalier and the engine blew on the da*n thing at 62,000 miles. NEVER AGAIN!!! They wonder why people buy foreign!! From here on out, I will own Nissan's only!! We even contacted the dealership where we purchased the car from, whom specializes in selling those types of vehicles and they basically told us that we were SOL. It's dealers like that whom put themselves out of business, nobody else to blame but them.

I got this car in October. It was definitely an upgrade from a 2005 Buick Rendezvous that I had but there are sooooo many problems that I have had with the car. The night I got it the headlights wouldnt work so I had to drive with my highbeams on. A couple days later the service engine light came on and the thermostat is bad. I went to fill it up and the fuel gauge was stuck on empty and the light came on. It takes about an hour of driving for it to finally go back up. Then I found out that the idle puller was bad. I love this car but there are so many problems with it. I actually had faith in Chevy. Not anymore. This car should definitely be taken off the market.

first was the fuel gauge , took it to the dealer fix it for free!!!than after a month the fuel pump, wich wasn't covered !!!!! $650.00 after, but the real problem is not the fuel gauge , not the fuel level sensor , the real problem is the FUEL PUMP so if u take your car to the dealer demand to replace the Fuel Pump if is on the warranty u will save a few hundreds !!! as u know the dealer won't tell you the real problem!!!!!! good luck guys!!!

Gas gauge quit working, asked local shop how much to fix, he said at least 600 for a non gm fuel pump installed. He said he has done a lot of these on gm trucks and suv's. I am not fixing it. i am trading off this pile soon.

Here I am two years later with deja vu. Leaving in two days for vacation to Florida and the damn gas gauge quit working again!!!! This time the dealership gets it fixed in a day and is very apoligetic for the trouble. I come to find out FROM those working on the vehicle that this is a COMMON problem. When the fuel gauge jumps around or quits altogether they have to drop the tank to replace the fuel pump. Why the pump it turns out that the fuel sensor is built into the pump so the only way to fix the gauge is by... you guessed it dropping the tank. Now thanks to the $1500 we spent on the exteneded warranty I only had to put out $100 but neeedles to say I am not very happy that two years to the day the vehicle is being fixed for the EXACT same problem AGAIN!
The dealership talked to the regional chevy rep about getting me reimbursed my $100 but they were told NO. I was then given a customer help number to chevrolet which I called and you guessed it no help was given excepot of course to my wallet. I was promptly given the run around and in so many words told sorry about your luck sucker.
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY AGAIN! I told the rep on the phone I had been looking at buying a new camaro but that will never ever happen now. I have purchased chevy's over other vehicle all my life but not anymore. I have had two ford taurus's and put over a combined 300,000 miles on them without so much as a hiccup. Yes I drive a long way to work and I need a vehcile that will run not give me the run around!
