I'm sending a complaint, as did some of the others, hoping to get a recall.

an anoying problem, just have'nt taken the time to fix. I have to rely on mileage.

OK it almost seems like GM planned for this fuel sensor to fail right after the extended warranty was up. Hmmmmm average mileage right above the extended warranty mileage expiration. I don't believe this was a problem with the parts but a planned problem. That's one way to make money in repairs. Now I am stuck without a fuel gauge and will be filling all the time to make sure I don't run out of gas. Thanks GM!!!!!!!!!!

just wanting to let my side out and all i can say is that this problem is really annoying i had to recently replace the whole entire fuel pump witch was close to 1000 with labor and parts i really think gm needs to look into this problem...and also the fan clutch gave out as well all i know is no more gm for me

I bought the tb with 57000 miles on it, as soon as I put 3000 more miles on it the gas gauge started floating around. Now it is always on E., have to watch the mileage, now I drive 275 miles I fill up again.

my whole dash panel is out of wack other than the RPM's and the Speedometer everything else does not work. I will not pay another cent for Chevy's poor design I run my gas by the trip meter and pray I make it at all times. This vehicle has already blown a head which cost us alot of money. Enough is enough when Chevy is true blue problem stand up to your mistakes.

Fuel gauge does not display fuel level properly. This is a Chevy issue. I have 3 chevy vans where I work and they all have the same recurring problem. Spend good $$ getting them "fixed" and it happens again and again.

After filling up ,gauge will read empty or after driving for a while gauge will slowly work its way up to full or stop at a dif level. I use my trip to figure out when to gas up. One dealer says its a level sensor another says its fuel tank sensor.I bought extra est warr and one is covered on isn't. Guess which they it is, how many senors are in the tank. I only know of pump and float(old school). is the sensor part of pump or what. nobody can tell me anything about it. thanks.

I have a 2005 trailblazer and the gas gauge is not working properly. I can fill up the tank and it will still say empty sometimes. This is terrible! What can we do to get a recall on this vehicle? It seems to be a problem for alot of people!!

I own at 2005 Trailblazer with extremely low miles. The fuel gauge stopped working after a fill up. What concerns me is that a friend own a similar vehicle and each problem that she has had, I have had. She had a problem with a pulley, I had the same problem but was fixed for free because of warranty. She had fuel gauge problem and had to replace the fuel pump at $800+. Now I have the same problem. This is not a coincidence. She bought her vehicle used. I bought mine new.

Yeah, I have the same fuel gauge problem. When it was under warranty it was replaced. Had to drop the tank and replace the sending unit. I'm getting ready to install my second sending unit. Tired of paying $700 - $800 every time I take it in. So I have taken the responsibility of buying some new tools to repair these problems myself. So far even with buying the tools I have saved a ton of dough. Most of the parts have not been too expensive and/or there are websites that sell these parts at discounted prices (just make sure you have correct part numbers). Chilton guide has helped a lot and the basic knowledge of automobiles has helped. I have tracked the mileage and ran out of gas a few times. That makes for an interesting day. Reminds me of being in high school with no money to pay for gas. Oh well, whats a poor man to do in these times. As you can tell there has been more than a simple fuel gauge problem. However I will say the tranny and over all engine performance has been satisfactory. Chevy has always had poor electronics in my opinion.

I have 2 2005 trailblazers in which neither gas gage works. I have done some research on this and there are several complaints about the gas gages this is bs they want 800 dollars or more to fix this problem when GM should be recalling them! Its pretty sad when u pay that much money for a vehicle and u have 2 carry a gas can in the back of it so if u ever run out u have a little bit hopefully 2 make it 2 a gas station. this is such a pain in the ass! no wonder they paid back the bailout so fast they dont want 2 fix our vehicles

I have found that this problem exists with about every other Trailblazer owner. This is a huge defect with the manufacturer and should qualify for a recall. No wonder GM is in the shape they are with junk products like this and then unable to "ManUp" and make fix their mistakes. If a recall is not in the offering soon this will be the last GM product I will ever own.

The fuel gauge stopped working which I was expecting after reading so much about it on the net. Just replaced the exhaust manifold cause it cracked (also all over the net). Blower motor connection melted, resistor fried, tailgate hinge came apart, A/C stopped working. I would expect this from an older vehicle but not a 2005 with low mileage! This is why I should have bought the Honda Pilot. This SUV is a piece of crap and I regret buying it every time I drive it.

I have to rely to mileage to track my fuel level. This is a pain in the ass. It is very unbelievable how many people have experienced the same thing. My only guess is this fault is my design to get you into the dealership to fix it. This is very sad to say, but no more GM/Chevys for me.

I don't put a lot of miles on this SUV and it is a shame this has happened. I had to have a new thermostat put on at 40,000. This is the last general motor product I will ever but
Update from Aug 12, 2010: This started to happen just after the warranty ran out and it was only happening if I topped off the tank when it was about half full. Now it it constant and very annoying I have to reset the fuel used sensor to know about how much gas I have let. I am just waiting for that to go bad. This is my last Chevy product ever. And I have always bought General Motor products.

Chevy service dept denies this is a "common Problem". Since then I have done some research on internet and this seems to be a significant problem. What does it take to turn this into a GM recall?

I bought this vehicle brand new. Two years in after an oil change and just before leaving for a long vacation trip the fuel gauge quit right after a fill up. To be precise right after I left the dealership I filled up and upon starting the vehicle the gauge did not work. Two days of wondering if we had a vehicle for vacation and it was fixed. It must be nice to get 30,000 plus for a vehicle and get away with putting defective parts on it. Actually I just chalked it up to unlikely part failure but this was just the beginning...

As with everyone else the gas gauge stopped working on this car. I contacted GM to complain and see if there was a recall on this (as I have seen thousands of complaints online) and was told there was nothing they could do. They offered me "assistance" getting the problem addressed at the dealer (Rosenthal Chevrolet) here in Arlington VA. I got an appointment for Thursday to have the problem diagnosed. I was told they were "too busy" to get the car in but it would be done 1st thing on Friday. Friday came and went and they never looked at it, so I took it to a local garage who fixed the problem for $950. I anyone is looking at doing a class action against GM, count me in....
Congress should bailout the poor suckers that bought GM cars not the lazy folks that made these pieces of crap...
