It is very dangerous having my children and grandchildren in my Trailblazer at night and my headlight just decide to shut off and not come back on for awhile. It has been starting to happen more often. It just started to happen in June. I bought it in March. I have young children and my grand kids are even younger and it is really starting to piss me off.

This is a serious issue. I can't believe Chevy will not come up with a solution for this. How do they expect their drivers to drive without functioning headlights? I guess it will take a death or two before they see the seriousness of their screw up! I come from a family of mechanics and we still can't figure out what the f*ck is wrong with this piece of sh*t!

This is why you should not buy American!!! They don't believe in quality anymore! I guess they just don't care enough about us to put safety first! Just roll any piece of sh*t out of the factory! I don't even have the conscientious to sell to somebody else!

So if anyone else ever figures it out, I hope I get to know.

Good luck and be safe!!!

One of the headlights had stopped lighting and I figured that the bulb had gone bad. WRONG! It turns out that the bulb filaments were fine but it was the socket that the bulb plugs into has gotten so hot that it deteriorated away.

The important science here is to observe that a corroded or dirty electrical connection will often induce a small arcing effect. Arcing causes heat (high heat too) and this was precisely what had caused our socket to be scorched. I first replaced the socket with a Dorman (generic) socket and that was great! I even tried cleaning off the old bulb's terminals and reused it. This worked for about 1.5 years until the same darn thing happened again!

This time I judged that the corrosion of the old bulb was causing the very same arcing effect and now I would not only have to re-do the socket replacement but also change the bulb too.

So far things have been great with the new bulb and new socket. I am learning more and more that poor electrical connections are becoming a high problem for our Trailblazer. I often think that the penny-cutting choices in metal materials it to blame for these problems. I also drive a vehicle that is 13 years older (Buick Rivera) and that baby's a charm! Best of luck to you!

The headlights work then shut off. (on the way to work in a downpour, no less) Dashboard lights partially working. (if I go over 40 mpg can't tell what my speed is) Was working correctly for a couple of days now nothing. I checked for recalls and there are recalls for 2006-20xx (NHTSA 14V755000 ) Just wondering, after finding on the internet, numerous 2005 owners with same problem, why this model wasn't included in the recalls? I filed aNHTSA.gov complaint on the potentially deadly problem of the 2005 Chevy Trailblazer that should be corrected and included in this recall. Thank you

I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. The headlights have stopped working. GM has recalled Trailblazers 2006-2009. So far the dealerships will not fix the problem because it does not fall within the recalled years. Has anyone else experienced this problem? What is the next step? How do I file a complaint with GM? Any suggestions would be great! Thank you!

My dim lights just went out one night so I have been having to drive with high beams. Now today, 4 months later, my high beams just stop working. No driving at night for me. When the dims went out I had switches replaced, lights replaced, but I could still drive. Now I will only be able to drive during the day until someone can figure out what the problem is. There seems to be a trend here. I have never had this to happen before with any other vehicle and Ii am sadly disappointed in this Chevrolet product. Maybe the last one I buy. Can anyone help!!! Going to the mechanic ASAP...

This is crazy. Im driving along its 2am and the headlights go out. Luckily the high beams were still working. I changed the bulbs and the fuses but nothing worked.. One mechanic is still scratching his head. I am going to try another one. I was hoping there was a recall but no such luck. And even if they don't find the problem you are charged for a diagnostic. To be continued.

My headlight stopped working just all of sudden. I have replaced bulbs, fuses and relays. lights still don't work. I have had this checked out and no one can find the problem. I am now limited to driving during the day time, in the fall it is dark when I get out of work. This problem must be fixed before fall comes.

With all the Chevy problems if I have to get another car I will NEVER get another GM product. This is very dangerous driving with no headlights. I guess they are going to wait until someone else is killed before Trailblazer owners get this issue with headlights resolved. I am real tired of spending money and getting nothing resolved with these headlights.

I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. Low beams work one day and not the next .They go out while driving at night, it happens all the time. We replaced the low beams lamps, not the problem, we also switched #46 #45, not it either, all fuses are good. We have another 2005 Trailblazer, head lights flickering, it was a relay. What the hell is going on with these crappy cars. I think Chevy needs to recall this as a huge safety issue.

Don't buy a 2005 trailblazer, worst made cars are 2005.This is our problems we had on both cars; gas gauges, 1 speedometer, 1 air conditioner, 1 transmission both cars, hinges all rusted on all doors both cars, carpet stains everywhere, 1 speaker not working, rusted under rubber corner of door both cars, rubber melting on back door both cars, idle pulley both cars, water pumps 2 cars, front seats sides fall all apart, 1 front passenger door not on right, to much play in the door, and the list goes on and on.

I have been to different Chevy dealers and raised hell for me and my daughter, they did not like me at all. It is sad you have to take your car over and over for the same issues and they can never find the problem. I called corporate office for my complaints and told them about the piece of sh*ts they sold me and my daughter.

Never again will I buy a Chevy and let everyone know don't buy a Chevy. I even went the to the dealer with big lemon signs all over my car they were pissed. I was loving it. The dealer said I need to take them signs off before he can help me. I laughed I was so pissed off . I said this is the truth, I should have been issued a new car. This is all in my 3 year warranty.

My headlights went out at the same time. I had a new headlight switch put in and had all of the bulbs replaced. This worked for a week or so. Then the headlights would not come on at all. The high beams are working, but nothing else. The daytime running lights and fog lights are working at this time. I can't run any errands after work because it's too dangerous to drive without lights. This is horrible.

Has this happened before & does anyone know how to fix it?

The lights began by flickering until the just stopped working. High beams work, fog lights work. We have had the fuses checked, the switch replaced. lamps replaced. NO LOW BEAMS. Have been to three mechanics who all have no clue. My father is a retired GM engineer from Truck and Bus division and he has not clue what to do either. I am sick of either not driving at night or pissing off all the other drivers because I have my high beams on. I have been to the dealership and spent $195 dollars for a diagnostic check and they don't know what the problem is but for their hourly rate of $95 they can look into it. NOT! SO why if others have the same problem, and I am sure that no headlights is a safety problem, hasn't Chevrolet been able to tell me what the problem is or know how to fix it?

Trailblazer LS 350

I have put over five thousand dollars in repairs for headlight, dashboard lights, continuously showing, repairs were made on the computer system of the car that was supposed to fix the dash board light problems and the problem still is occurring. The gas gauge does not work so I spend more money than I probably should in gas for fear of running out of gas. The engine light is constantly on. I have taken the vehicle in for a diagnostic test to several places and not one of the companies could find a problem with it. Not even the Chevy Dealer ship nor the dealer ship I purchased it at. When the vehicle is started it makes a horrible sound and apparently nothing is wrong with the Trailblazer. I feel that there is a problem with the vehicle and I believe that it has to do with the manufacturer. I am completely fed up with this vehicle; however I am stuck with it and still owe over ten thousand dollars on a vehicle that I do not feel safe in nor do I feel safe transporting the children in. I honestly feel that I have been ripped off and do not know what else to do, or pursue in order to be compensated for the major loss I am dealing with. It is extremely overwhelming and I want answers to the obvious problems that I am having with my vehicle! It is a piece of JUNK and strongly feel it is the manufacturers fault and duty to fix it or compensate me for my losses.

Driving down the road completely dark & my headlights went completely out around a corner. I almost wreck lucky I knew there was a pull off ahead & no one was coming toward me. I pulled off & messed with my lights & finally came back on. I was nervous cause I still have a 30 minute drive home. This is the 2nd time it's happen.
