power steering pump blew apart power steering pump blew apart

This is our daughters car, she's 20 and like all kids, knows nothing about cars. She had told me it was making noise and using power steering fluid. Not uncommon for vehicles to leak little fluid, but this is beyond a little and frankly, I think ridiculous that can't get a good car from any manufacturer that isn't junk.

This is a common problem. Power steering pumps are super weak in Chevy. It blew apart driving through the city. I ended up replacing it 3 times in a two week period. The first replacement lasted 1 day when the pulley shaft started to come out and wore a large hole in the case.
