Trailblazer LS 4.2L Vortec

The seal on the rear gate around the license plate is bad. water leaks in when it rains and the rear hatch lock mechanism rusted up and the gate won't lock. I took the plastic off the inside and oiled and busted the mechanism loose. gate locks now but seal is still bad. what a p.o.s.
