Bought the used vehicle with 161,000 miles on it. Check engine light came on for second time at 163,287 mi and I took it in immediately. Was told code said "P0495(1/2) Cooling Fan Speed High OTC Severity 3 of 3"
I replaced fan clutch assembly immediately. Paid $1,483.44 Engine light went off. 2500 miles later, engine light came back on again. No changes in heat and no instrument panel issues. It has been on and off since then. Finally, tired of mess, I took back to dealer who sold and replaced, & was told it's a different part number, not same thing.
They are now wanting to charge me to replace electric fan, which it does not have. I was told it would cost another $1800 to replace and repair. Took to 3 other shops and all 3 confirmed sensor relay needed to be replaced. Replaced sensor relay for under $100 on 10/21/22. 250 miles later, check engine light back on with same original code of P0495 Severity 3. Issue is continuing. No idea yet. Original dealer will not do any warranty work because they claim it's a different part. Everyone wants to do diagnostics and charge me money but nothing gets resolved. I currently have 210,000 miles on the vehicle. I am open to any suggestions or ideas and I am tired of seeing this consistent warning on this vehicle.
