Trailblazer LT 4.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,976 miles

This is a large problem for these vehicles. Many websites to include this one lists a multitude of Trailblazer owners having the same problem. Some of the vehicles start with mileage as low as 30,000. This is a very costly repair which requires dropping the gas tank. The dealerships are very familiar with this issue and advise 500 to 900 dollars for repair.

It is my understanding that recalls are to be considered when a safety issue exists. Could you imagine running out of gas somewhere rual, day or night or in a high crime area of the city. I have emailed GM with several links to a large quantity of complaints like this one. It may be wishful thinking but hopefully the email will reach someone that will open their eyes and do something about it.

This is my second GM vehicle in the last five years. At this point I am not sure if I want another if they refuse to stand behind their product.

Just bought this vehicle used from a dealer, Gas gage screwed from the get go, what a bunch of crap! As soon as it gets just under 1/2 a tank the gage goes ape-sh*t and reads empty and then fluctuates until It is Full again. After reading everyones problem, should be a RE-Call!

Just put $60.00 in my tank to fill it up. I am a single Mom dealing with an illness, so this is a lot of money to me. WELL- turned on the car and immediately the gas gauge reads E! I cannot afford a mechanic right now, and I am terrified I will run out of gas with my kids in the car! This really stinks and I cannot believe how many people have the same issue and GM is doing nothing. Unbelievable!! :-(

Trailblazer LT 3.2L V6

  • 51,600 miles

I just got this car July 2010, it's September 2010. My gas gauge is all over the place and since I drive 45 minutes to work everyday, I am on edge. I just dropped my car off at the dealership and got a phone call from the service manager, they are willing to only charge me $290.00 to fix the fuel sensor. I am p!$$ed! I found out that the fuel sensor was broken because I ran out of gas on a hill, in a turn, with a 1 year old and 5 year old in my car. I literally had to get out of the car and walk down the hill a little to warn oncoming cars to slow down. And I have to pay the dealership to fix this?!?!? I already have two cars, we got this one because my little 2000 ford focus was not good in the snow. I should have stayed with my focus, I didn't owe anything on it and it never gave me any trouble.

The gas level indicator would go from FULL to empty within seconds. I was in traffic when my gas hand went from FULL to empty. It was like my mind was playing tricks on me. Because I remember going to the gas station earlier that day.

Trailblazer LX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

I must say this is the first AND last GM i have owned and will own!

At 40,000 the gas gauge quit working(read empty) warranty was up at 36,000.I called dealership took it in there they ran the diagnostic on it said it was fuel sensor. They quoted me approx. $800 to fix it EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ONLY 4K MILES PAST WARRANTY..So a year goes by and I started hearing about the same problem with other trailblazer owners and I decided to contact GM.They told me I had to go get another diagnostic and there was a good chance they would take care of it since originally I went with 40k miles on it.Same diagnosis, waited about a week then GM calls me to tell me they aren't going to do anything about it because the dealership had no record of me being there at 40k miles. So i had to pay $100 to have a diagnosis that i had done before so they could tell me the fuel sensor is still bad.I told them that I knew of several other people with the same problem but GM says its not an issue. The mechanic at the dealership told me he had personally fixed roughly 6 or 7 in the last 1-2 months!!Considering the town I live in has a population of about 30,000 I thought that was considerably high.He then told me he has only worked there 1-2 months...thats just 1 of the problems I've had with this lemon

Guess what, we have the exact same problem with our 2007 chevy trailblazer lt with 50k . we bought it used in oct 2008 had zero problems up until 8/01/09 . i stopped at the gas station filled up the tank got in started it up and the fuel gauge was falling down to the left until it showed empty . gas gauge light is on and the engine light stays on .

we have drove it for a year like this, hoping there is a recall . i have googled this several times to see how many more people have the same problem and amazed at how many do have the exact same problem . we are going to take the trailblazer to a dealership in about 2/3 weeks to get fixed my gf can not take this any longer . from what i have read on here and other sites it will cost about $500.00 to fix . thank god we never ran out of gas because when we hit 300 miles we fill it back up and were good for another 300 miles but this is getting very old .

Trailblazer LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,000 miles

We have to carefully gauge the mileage and really have no way of knowing whether or not the problem will cause the vehicle to stop. The indicator warning becomes annoying and we have to fill up the vehicle that only takes 5-6 gallons to get it to stop buzzing. The dealership said it is a common problem with this 2007 model but it is not coered by warranty. It is an obvious defect and should be covered by a recall to fix.

Trailblazer LT V6

This will most likely go unseen, unreported and ignored by GM but going to post anyway. There is a really good FU@%!(* reason why you all are going bankrupt!! Builiding pieces of $hit cars and trucks and customer service is crap too. Really gas sensor going out in a three year old car with 60000 miles...really! The political side of this, is that this won't make the news or get national recall attention because it is not at Toyota or any other import...why because the government now owns GM. And supposedly everything is good to go...this is call the 'Smoke and Mirror' BS.

Well I own this 07 Trailblazer and an 08 CTS (and even that has a sh*t load of issues), will trade in both for Imports when get back from OEF. Just sucks because have to worry about wife and kids in it from the other side of the globe...as if I need more stuff to worry about. All I wish for is that GM gets off their sorry assess and issues a F@#$(& recall so Americans will gain back their confidence in buying American!

Trailblazer LS 4.2L

  • Automatic transmission

Having the same exact issue as all the others listed here. Gas gauge will show we are out of gas, even though we just filled up. We have to monitor our gas by the mileage we drove. (Quite a pain if we forget to reset the trip to 0!!) This is quite disturbing that a sensor of this importance will only last about 50K miles. I would think that this has to be a design flaw and that GM should look at taking care of an issue like this. The cost of repair is too high, +$500. Dealership service dept knew exactly what the problem was and that it is a common problem. We're in the market for making a purchase, and this makes it tough to consider a GM product.

Gas gauge always shows empty. Sometimes after I fill up, the check engine light comes on. Called the dealership, would be around $500 to fix. Forget it!! I track my mileage - but what a pain! I am a two vehicle Chevy owner, but not for long!!!! This vehicle is not that old-Sounds like a common problem (even the dealer said so)! Come on Chevy-recall or do something about this way too common problem!!

I'm not a "ranter or whiner". But...it was really frustrating traveling to Colorado this week to visit our son. The gas gauge would say empty and we had just filled it up. You drive a few miles and look down...and oops the gas gauge is functioning. It does this on a continuous basis. How would you like to run out of gas in the middle of Nebraska heading home to Iowa. Yipes.

Trailblazer LT L6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

Ok I have an 07 Trailblazer which I like but I go fill up one day and my miles to empty go to ZERO....I thought that can't be right I just got gas. The more I drive the more my miles come back up. this continues for a few days I get gas again and back to empty. So take it to the dealership and they tell me my fuel descending sensor in the tank is out and it will take about an hour to replace and 500.00. I was like no thank you. I can figure out about how many miles to a tank I get. Then check engine light comes on have that checked it goes back to the fuel sensor. Now after researching more because my car has been idling bad and missing for the past month it all goes back to the stupid sensor that isn't covered under warranty. At this point I have no idea what to do and if I will ever buy another GM product. This is so inconvenient!!!!

Fuel light always says empty even when filled up. The dealer told me it will cost anywhere from $500-$900 to fix for a new sending unit!!!!!!I'm amazed at how many people have already complained about this problem. I can't believe chevy hasn't done a recall. If they dont recall this vehicle I will never buy a chevy again and I will trade this car in. I am even more disappointed now that I know how many others have had the same problem.

Trailblazer LS V6

  • 52,000 miles

This car is the worst car I have ever owned at this price! I purchased it used, and purchased an extended warranty for $2,500 in the event that any problems should arise. I hadn't made even 6 payments when the fuel sensor unit crashed. When I took the car in to diagnose the problem, I was told it would cost me $600 to repair, and, my oversold, guaranteed to under- deliver extended warranty (which promised to cover anything and everything bumper to bumper except brakes and tires), proved absolutely worthless. Hell, with that $2500 bucks, I could have bought a heap of junk off of Craig's List that would have had more reliability than this lousy 2 wheel drive bus. Get your act together Chevy, I wont be back, but maybe the next poor sucker will get a decent break.
