Three weeks ago, after our 2006 Chevy Trailblazer ext was filled up, the gas gauge went to empty and then went back and forth before finally going towards full. However, we are not sure if it is accurate at any point. This occurs every time we fill the tank up in the truck. We have not had it fixed, but an estimated cost has been $800 to fix the sending unit and drop the tank to fix.

Fuel gauge will show gas left in car, no low fuel indicator light coming on and will run out of gas. Have ran out twice on expressway because indicating has fuel but doesn't.

I own a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer ext. On April 17th 2011 I was driving on highway 1-96 in Michigan with my 2 young kids. Gas gague read 48 miles till empty when the vehicle suddenly stalled, it was out of gas. My kids and I had to walk along a major highway to nearest gas station to get gas. The truck ran fine before stalling out at 70 mph. I am thankful there were no cars close behind me when the vehicle suddenly stalled.

The fuel gauge quite working at 75,000 and is caused by the fuel sending unit being defective. This causes a hazard since unable to determine amount of fuel available and could cause engine to quit on road. From all items I have read about this seems to be a defective part and even when repaired goes back out.

2006 Chevrolet trailblazer has a problem with the fuel gauge not working. It appears to be the fuel sending unit. This website is full of people with the same issue, someone needs to make them do something www.topix.com/forum/autos/Chevrolet-trailblazer/th8ji6tepo3vrji3D.

I have 2006 Chevy trailblazer. I have been having problems with the fuel gauge. I look up info on line and I'm not the only one with this kind of problem on Chevy trailblazer. Even when I fill up on gas it still reads empty. Everyone that has this problem said it happens when you reach 40,000 mlies. This is very dangerous.

On my 2006 Chevy Trailblazer ext, the gas gauge has begun to work erratically. It has just less than 40,000 miles on it and is out of warranty. In searching the internet, it appears there are hundreds of people with this issue.

My 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext lt has a faulty fuel gauge. It will read empty and the low fuel light will come on, then it will go back to full, continually fluctuating back and forth. At first it will show full when we fill up, but after driving for a few minutes would go to empty. The check engine light stays on all the time. I am afraid of stalling. This problem started at around 62,000 miles.

Fuel level sensor indicates tank is empty at all time. This fault could result in the auto running out of fuel, stall, or be rear ended by another vehicle. Results of such an event could result in mugging, rape or death.

Gas gauge stopped working @ 45,000 miles. Just filled up and the gauge started going from full to empty back and forth every few seconds. After searching the internet, this seems to be happening to several thousand customers of the same vehicle type......is there a recall on this"?? if not, then why"

The gas gauge does not work. The low light fuel is always on and the fuel level always shows empty even when there is a full tank of gas.

Fuel sensor defects in the 2006 Chevrolet trailblazers. Has been replaced and again not working. I have seen dozens of theses complains from Chevrolet owners.
- Downingtown, PA, USA
My vehicle is always show out of gas or fuel low. I was told that the fuel level sensor is bad and would need to be replaced. Cost $600. I noticed that this problem has been common for many years with Chevy trucks. Was is going to be done about this. I think it should be a recall item dating back several years.

I own a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext and the fuel gauge never registers the correct amount of fuel. It always fluctuates between empty and 3/4 full even after filling the tank completely. I have had this problem for at least one month now and the repairs will be at least $500 to complete. The problem is still occurring please see website www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2006/Chevrolet/trailblazer+ext I have been researching the problem over the internet to determine if others are having similar problems. This appears to be a trend that has been ongoing for a few years now. This would be a huge courtesy if the manufacturer would do a recall for this fuel sensor problem and avoid legal action as well as to continue upholding a great american legacy such that Chevrolet has built.

At around 53,000 mi I filled my gas tank and when I started the trailblazer up the fuel gauge read empty and the low fuel light was on. After about 20 miles the gauge started to register, but would intermittently drop to empty. This happens every time I fill up. Now the check engine light comes on and shuts off randomly. I have not had it checked out for a solution yet.
