The power steering reset independently within moments. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the power steering pump, power steering shaft and rack and pinion were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the power steering pump was defective. The power steering pump was replaced and the steering gear toe was adjusted. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 93,186.
