I was driving at approximately 30mph on a road the traction control/stability track light came on and my car lost almost all power. it went from 30 to about 5mph. thankfully i was on a slower road and close to my house so I was able to get home. If I would have been on a highway I could have been killed. i quick google search showed thousands of other complaints with the same problem, my question is why is nothing being done. are they waiting for a certain number of deaths??

On Jan 4 2020 I was dry on the expressway doing 70 mph and all of sudden my car made a ding noise and my traction control light came on saying it was off then it said it was powering down and then the stabilitrak light came on I almost had an accident because of nowhere that happened I read that GMC had alot of problems qith the same situation. I was very scared and very emotional and I had to have my car towed this is a really bad safety problem and I read that tthat im not the only one this happened too

After some major maintenance work summer of 2018, car began to show more work needed. Summer of 2019 while driving on flat city road, power steering became difficult to turn & control curves and, check engine light came on. Parked the car until able to repair. Mechanic repaired power steering module car seemed ok. After about 2-3 weeks, check engine light & power steering problems again, now engine power reduced while driving w/stabilitrak warning & back up cam sometimes works. Whle driving, hard to turn on curves, corners and at appropriate posted speeds bc engine slows on its own and wont give enough power for flats or hills. Heating takes much longer to warm cabin and window button sometimes wont work.

The biggest issue is intermittently going into "low engine" mode, warning blinks for only a second then the car will not go more than 10 miles an hour. This is quite dangerous to me, my family, and other drivers- imagine this happening on the freeway" does this issue need to result in a death before it is looked into by the company" the car will not shift out of gears- happens intermittently with no warning signs whatsoever. The issue happens when I go above 40 mph, the the rpms goes to 9+off the charts and I cannot go into the next gear. Since it happens only randomly mechanics have a hard time finding issue since it does not always do this for them. Our last visit suggested to replace the transmission, but at a price that is more than the value of the car, that is hard to stomach. Lots of complaints of this issue and considering the 2009 recall, my two cents is the 2010 model most obviously has similar manufacturing issues and a deeper investigation needs to take place. Other issues, car lurches/jerks when put into drive from park. Please back your company and in good faith take care of your customers as some of us work hard for our money, this should not be the result of something anyone takes pride in!

Randomly my car will have problems shifting gears using going into 3rd gear and the RPM will shoot up. Also when putting the car in reverse it hesitates and then starts sputtering. Once I turned the car off and restarted it it started shifting normally but about 10 minutes later it started again. I have this problem when I'm on the city streets or on the interstate. I wonder why there havent been a recall for this because I see there's other owners going through this and I have less than 101,000 miles on my car.

When driving it on the highway, the check engine light came on in the car and flashed the words: Traction control off, service stability, rear park assist off, engine power being reduced. The vehicle went from 70 mph to about 25 mph. I was almost hit by the other vehicles as this happened. The seatbelt has also not been latching fully and this morning the airbag sensor came on and said check the airbag system. But then went off after about 20 seconds, while I was stationary.this is clearly hazardous and makes driving to work and to my children's things impossible and extremely dangerous. Now I've done my research and what most people believed and mechanics was that it was the throttle body sensor being dirty, we had this cleaned last year. This also seemed to only occur after the temperature outside goes below 30 degrees. People also have found that it may be the engine module system that was serviced or sometimes the catalyst converter. But even after people have had these things serviced they have experienced the same ordeal I have and that's after having 3 or more mechanical repairs with no clue on what is actually causing the problem.

Drivers side 2nd row seat belt does not always stay latched. At 100,000 mi power steering pump went, month later lost control of steering, which turned out to be the rack. 15 months later the seals in the rack have blown out again. This is an expensive safety issue! the dealer did not see an issue as he listed 3 other makes that have the same problem. At $1400 per repair this should be a recall to keep my family safe! also informed one front strut has no oil and the other is leaking. My Chevrolet Traverse is a money pit. It is an automatic transmission that on an incline will continue to coast backwards until you either break or give it gas, this is from date of purchase.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse. While driving 20 mph in an above ground parking facility, the accelerator pedal seized. The brake pedal was depressed, but failed to slow down the vehicle. The vehicle crashed through the gate of the parking facility and also crashed into a parked vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed; however, the contact was cited for reckless driving and failing to operate a vehicle in a safe manner. The contact was not injured. The vehicle was first towed to calibre collision and then to john elway Chevrolet (located at 5200 S. broadway, englewood, Colorado 80113, tel: (303)761-0333) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that it would take several weeks before the investigation would be finalized. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 861039. The approximate failure mileage was 24,994.

Several malfunction indicator warning lights and messages continue to appear on the driver console under certain driving conditions. They warn "service stabilitrak" ; "service traction control" ; and, "engine power is reduced" these malfunction alert are accompanied by a severe deceleration of the vehicle and no response or very modest response when the accelerator is depressed. This issue has presented itself four (4) separate times in 2016 and 2017 while the vehicle was being driven on highways (3 times at speeds of 60 mph) and always when the temperature has been near or below freezing (32 degrees). GM has notified me of this issue impacting cars of the same year, make and model. However, the vehicle on board computer (obc) clears after the 3rd restart (according to the dealership) and proof of the error via the obc is wiped out (only leaving me with video and pictures, which GMC will not honor in its repair protocol). As stated, this reoccurring issue is being experienced at high speeds on busy highways and the car will quickly throttle down to speeds of 30-40 mph -- which is a very dangerous situation in a highway environment (like the 495 beltway in Washington, DC). I truly fear for my safety in driving this vehicle and GMC is complacent in having me prove through the obc that this is happening, and then having a dealership recreate the issue. There a hundreds of references to this issue as I searched the internet for answers long before GMC reached out to me. GMC is playing games with consumers and advising that this issue dows not pose to safety hazard. My experiences in this vehicle are proof that their claims are false. Please investigate this issue --- contact me --- GM's protocol is getting in the way of addressing dangerous vehicle issues.

Not sure I should do this but it has occured 2 times bow. My Traverse eccelerator gets stuck down and you cant atop. The only way to stop is put in nutral if you have the time. I am afraid to have my wife deive this. It happened for the 2nd time since I have owned it the other day. The breaks wont worm unless you put it into nutral!!!

I am writing because I have had this vehicle a little over 1 year and put less than 18,000 miles on it and yet it is constantly in the shop for costly repairs. I am currently wondering where drivetime sources these vehicles from because a used car should not have to be in the shop as much as my car is especially when drivetime's chosed extended warranty company aeverex only wants to pay for repairs that they deem fair to pay for which is a disadvantage for a buyer such as myself. I have consistently paid my note on time and got the run around for 2 weeks on the last repairs that aeverex took their time addressing. I don't mind making minor repairs like tires or maybe a hole in the muffler but to have to replace a timing chain within a week of the purchase and an engine flywheel and starter in barely a year of the purchase makes it seem as if these cars were broken down before being sold to unsuspecting customers such as myself by drivetime and their refusal to assist to the customers in their time of need makes it seem as if they were intentional on getting these damaged goods off of their hands. I am filing this formal complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration because this is an important issue as my car has stopped in the middle of oncoming highway traffic and I could have been killed. This vehicle is a true lemon and I only wished that I had done more research on drivetime before purchasing from them. I have had to replace wipers in the first month in addition to the timing chain and tires the next month, front brake lights, back brake lights, a flexplate, a flywheel, and multiple other repairs. Please respond and offer some type of assistance.

The current mileage on my 2010 Traverse is 74K... driving down the highway at 60mph all of a sudden the traction stabilizer control/ABS lights come on the dashboard and the car started decelerating, down to 45 mph and more. While the gas petal was being pressed no acceleration would happen. Went to pull off to the side of the road to get out of harms way, and all of a sudden the acceleration came back. The remainder of my drive the traction stablizer control/ABS stayed on with no other acceleration problems, until I arrived to work. When backing out of a parking space the vehicle would not go in reverse, while giving it gas in reverse the vehicle continued to go forward. Put in park, waiting, then tried it again. The traction stabilizer control/ABS lights went off and I was able to reverse just fine. Over the pas few months the vehicle has experienced only with the traction stabilizer/ABS light indicators no other problems. We had taken it to the dealership and they find no codes. Could it be the sensor or now could it be the throttle body??

On the highway doing around 65 mph, alarm chimes went off, display center showed "service stabilitrak", "service traction control", "engine power reduced". the car quickly decelerated to 10 mph and would not go any faster. Had to pull over and shut down. This was only one of the many times this has happened over the past year and a half. It has been in and out of the service center, diagnosed with 4 or 5 different issues, repaired 2 or 3 components all with the same outcome: The engine power reduced issue comes back. The dealer tells me it's a "new issue" every time so at this point I have no faith in their "fixes", I feel that when my wife, kids, or me are in the car I will eventually be in a horrific accident where we all die and hope that at least this message will come out then. GM has been sort of helpful but from my research/dealings with this issue (30+ hours), it seems like something that should have been recalled on several different model GM automobiles. I am at a loss. I haven't fixed the most recent issue ($700, transmission internal mode switch) in hopes that, using my own research/technical expertise, I can find the real issue behind these failures and not just what the "computer error codes" are pointing too. The irony in this "feature" is that, from my understanding, it goes into this engine power reduced mode for safety reasons so that you won't lose control of the car or other problem. Yet reducing the engine power on a busy highway or the pa turnpike where there is nowhere to safely pull over is the most dangerous problem of all. Notes for other consumers: So far the mechanic has flushed the throttle body (cleaned it), and replaced the timing belt. Taking to a different mechanic for a 2nd opinion on the most recent internal mode switch diagnosis.
