2011 Chevrolet Traverse drivers side seat belt restraint cable started to frey like over night was not driving car (one day not there next day all exposed and most wires broke) open driver side door and sticks right out before you did not notice, passenger side feels frayed but srink wrap not torn I believe both were on a previous recall in 2014 for seat belts, but did not have problem according to betten dealer ship in muskegon mi.

The vehicle is only 7 years old and has three (3) failed seat belts. I called GM and they said one of the belts is on recall but they will not repair the others. I am a recent widow with 4 children under 8 years old drivng this car with failed seat belts. I need help to get the seat belts fixed so the my children will be safe and I will be in compliance with the law.

The vehicle was taken to hayes Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac of baldwin (3656 ga-365, alto, ga 30510, (706) 776-1144) where the failure was not diagnosed; however, a new seat belt was installed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The contact was referred to NHTSA to file a complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.

The seat belt restraint cable was on a previous recall, it was taken to jones Chevrolet in lexington tn for repair. It has this past year broken and I had to replace it. I will need to replace both soon and suspect that others are driving around with these defective units.

The contact had to tug the seat belts to place the seats in the upright position. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the air bag and seat belt warning indicator inadvertently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the lap pretensioner on the seat belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called hendrick Chevrolet Buick GMC southpoint at (919) 888-4896 (127 kentington dr, durham, nc 27713) and the contact was transferred to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14V266000 (seat belts). The manufacturer was notified and stated that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The approximate failure mileage was 11,295.

The rear view mirror that contains a backup camera looks very cloudy/foggy and is visible hard to use. Also the second row seats (driver and passenger) seat belts are no longer buckling properly. My 11 year old seats back there and everytime we hit a bump the seatbelt pops out of its buckle.

Letter from congressman gosar on behalf of constituent re 2011 Chevy Traverse multiple recalls (attn: Stephen briggs). The consumer stated her vehicle had three major safety recalls regarding the air bags, seat belts and water pump. Recently, while driving the stabiltrak service traction control light illuminated, followed by the engine powering down and the engine light illuminated, at which point the vehicle decelerated from 65 mph to less than 5 mph.

On August 6, 2014 we had our vehicle serviced by the dealer due to an airbag recall and at the time the vehicle had 38,000 miles. Shortly there after we noticed a grinding noise when we made a right hand turn. At first it happened intermittently but eventually it became noticeable at low rates of speed (5 - 10 mph). Today we took the vehicle to the dealership for the third recall this being the power steering pump. We were informed that this was covered by GM but we also had a leak in our rack and pinion and it would cost $1200 to repair. We intend to fight this since it appears it may be linked to the steering recall. We also have noticed that the driver side seat belt has cut a groove into the plastic seatbelt cover near the shoulder harness. We were told that this was not related to the earlier seat belt recall which had been serviced. This could effect the integrity of the seat belt system if the belt gets snagged by the plastic groove which has appeared. This should not happen with a car that is less than 3 years old.

This is regarding the handling of the safety recalls that Chevy has issued. We were advised to bring our vehicle in for no charge replacement on parts. After bringing the SUV in and waiting over an hour I was advised the parts had to be ordered and would receive a call as soon as they were in. 5 weeks later, still no call. I called and was advised the parts were in. There was no explanation as to why we didn't receive a call as soon as the parts were in, as this is a safety issue and we have a 1 year old who rides in this vehicle. Brought the SUV in to be repaired, was advised 3 hours. After 9hours with no call, we called. We were told that the parts that came in were defective and they needed to order new parts. It should be known and investigated as to what service Chevy is doing on recalls that are a safety issue, the new parts are defective also! I called Chevy and filed a complaint regarding this dealership and service.

Middle seatbelt on the second row locked with my grandchild in it. Was unable to get her car seat out. Finally got it lose and was told by the dealer it would cost almost $350 to fix this. This has bee like this for over a year.

I took my vehicle in for the seat belt recall. The recall was performed, leaving questions. How does removing the sleeve on the seat belt and replacing it with shrink wrap plastic make this safer? there is now nothing to prevent the seat belt cable from rubbing on the sides of the now hole where the sleeve was. Not to mention this leaves this area looking terrible and unfinished.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while waiting at a traffic light, a vehicle crashed into the rear end and pushed the vehicle into an intersection. The air bags failed to deploy and the seat belt failed to restrain her. The contact sustained injuries to the chest, knee and a fractured hand. The police report was filed. The contact also stated that the air bag light illuminated three times prior to the failure however, the dealer was not able to duplicate the failure and as a temporary remedy reset the light. The contact also later received notification of NHTSA campaign id number 14V118000 (air bag). The manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. The approximate failure was 45,000.

In our 8 passenger Traverse we have frequent trouble with the middle row, middle seat belt locking up when it is not used. The problem occurs when someone goes to buckle their belt in this seat - it will not disengage and we have to manipulate the seat or the area around the where the seat belt retracts into the seat to get it to disengage. Sometimes it becomes so difficult or time consuming we have to move that person to the 3rd row seating in the far back. It is only this seat belt that does this and after conducting an internet search, we are not the only consumers having this issue. This is an inconvenience at this point but am concerned it is a safety issue - if the seat belt behaves this way, how do I know it will work properly in an accident" when we brought our car to the dealer to look at this issue they told us they could replace the seat belt. My concern is this seems like a design flaw and if they replace the seat belt with the same oem part, what prevents the issue from recurring"

I got into my car one day. I pulled the seatbelt to buckle it and the piece that hooks next to the seat and door was broken off. I took it into sundance and the mechanic told me itd be $250 to fix it but he's never seen anything like that in 40 years and theres no way we couldve broken it. I still havent had money to fix it and its not covered under warranty for some reason.
