SO SAD..... WE BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2012 CHEVY TRAVERSE AND AFTER FIVE YEARS THE TIMING CHANGE HAS FAILED (ENGINE). THE CAR WAS DUE TO BE PAID OFF IN APRIL OF 2018. WHAT A PIECE OF SH*T VEHICLE. MY FAMILY HAS ALWAYS DRIVEN CHEVYS, MAINLY BECAUSE MY FATHER IS A RETIREE OF GM. WE WILL" NEVER" BUY ANOTHER DOMESTIC CAR AGAIN. THESE GM CARS DO NOT LAST AND ARE A WASTE OF MONEY. NOW I KNOW AFTER RESEARCHING THAT THE 2010-2012 MODELS HAVE HAD ENGINE PROBLEMS" MANUFACTURER DEFECT". OF COURSE THEY WILL NEVER ADMIT THAT. "TOYOTA, NISSAN HERE I COME".

i bought the car 12/2015. when the engine stopped on me on 1-95 with my children and I, we were terrified. during a service in 2/2016, i found out there was a 20,000 mile discrepancy. they supposedly fixed the engine but the a/c was not covered in the standard warranty. since then, I bought my car to autonation in aprox. 12 times. last time, i bought the car over in may, i dropped in off because my car was shaking, gas was coming out the pipe and then it stopped and received my car back over 24 hours later. when i picked my car back, i received a estimate of atleast $3,000 and was told if i were to get the certain repairs done to the car, it does not mean that, my car would stop having the problem, when the car stops. again, this month, my car did the same thing and the trunk door would not stay open, i have to hold the door up with my hands. then i took it somewhere else, that repair center, stated that my computer has problems, i need a new condenser and compressor.

Driving home from work and stopped at the store. On the way out of the parking lot, traction control went "off" then "on" without me doing anything. Went "off" again, the got a warning about servicing the stabilization control, check engine light went on and just as suddenly, as I was turning into the main road, my car would not accelerate. I turned into the next parking lot. All lights expect the check engine were now off. My car would slowly accelerate, but not beyond about 20 mph. Got it to my house. Let the car sit for about an hour. Took it around the block and it seemed fine (but did not go over 40 mph). Check engine light still on. Will try to take it to a repair shop to see if they can fix it. Little worried - I'm planning a trip from Illinois to Maine later this month.
