I bought the 2012 Traverse 16 months ago. For 15 months I was very happy with it. A month ago it began to shudder when going uphill at low speed. I took it to John Megel Chevrolet in Dawsonville, Ga. and left it with the service department for 2 days. GM did not authorize any repair stating that it was "NORMAL" for the vehicle to shudder. The shuddering is significant, as if the vehicle won't make it up a small hill. Normal? I have been driving for 43 years and never encountered this problem. However, this is my first (and last) Chevrolet!

Headed down the highway and the engine lights started beeping low oil pressure. Pulled over and noticed lots of white floating on top of the oil. Added oil to the engine, light went off and made it home. Changed the oil thinking the filter was clogged. The car ran fine for the next two weeks. Driving and the light came on again saying low oil pressure.
We had the car towed to the dealer we bought the car from. Supplied the receipts from the oil changes. GM is stating that the engine has excessive slug in the engine and wants us to go back on the garage that changed the oil. We paid the 7227.00 to have the car fixed because GM would not cover the cost. After some research I noticed that it is not uncommon for engines to show this kind of slug when you only make short trips no matter how many oil changes you have. Stinks that they won't cover this and it looks as if GM tries to find anyway they can to not pay. If I was you I would avoid buying a Traverse and honestly after this Chevy won't get my business. No wonder people buy foreign cars.
