The socket that headlight bulbs plugs in to continually burns out. Contacted the dealer and was told the only solution was replacing the entire headlight assembly for around $300 EACH headlight. Surfed around and found out this is a common problem. Found that you can purchase a new pigtail/dongle for $7 on the web. But getting to the headlight, splicing the wires and replacing that is a HUGE pain. Whoever designed that should be shot.
Even the higher heat-rated dongles I have purchased have continued to burn out. There's clearly some kind of design flaw. I am not using the high-powered headlights, I but the lowest powered one to keep them from burning up. But about every 6 months I have to crawl up in the front wheel well and replace one side or the other because I refuse to pay $600 for the dealer to replace the headlights. You would think this would be a safety recall and they would be required to ensure the headlights won't burn out.
