problem #1

Aug 102017

Traverse LT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 106,000 miles

I bought this car in April of 2017 as a GM certified used, and I purchased an extended warranty because I do a lot of driving. Car had 47K on it at purchase and now has 106K. We love the car but the transmission issue has been with it since we got it. When I brought back to dealer they told me the couldn't identify or duplicate the problem. The transmission was not shifting correctly. This gets brought in for this every couple months and usually results in NO RESULTS. NO loaner car either and usually the car is there for more than 2 weeks!!

Had it there in November, service manager took the car for a ride with me. Verified the problem, and they said they would fix it. This was necessary this time as my mileage was over the 99K and now almost out of warranty. After over a week, I kept calling to see if it was fixed, and they told me the mechanic (?) couldn't identify the issue on the computer and nothing was wrong. He couldn't even duplicate, or should I say identify, the issue I described or the one the service manager identified. Now I'm told all is good and I should take the car.

Well, on our regular trek of 140 miles to our business on the weekend the car again is acting up. Brought it back and the same crap occurs. There are no mechanics, only computer parts changers. The skill level is minimal at best. If the computer doesn't show it they can't fix it. So I push this car, no warranty at least 350 miles each weekend and now have 106K. I see no reason why this issue, which a trans shop identified, can't be fixed by GM since they didn't fix it when it was under warranty. I see many similar complaints so this is not a new issue for this car. This should be a GM responsibility, not mine. I am expecting to be contacted by an attorney within the next month. Unfortunately we are in the process of moving and overwhelmed with health issues with family out of state and our own. I have never been more disappointed in a car or a dealer in my entire life. I am 71 years old and have owned over 100 vehicles and never have I ever had this type of problem.
