problem #2

Traverse

  • Automatic transmission
  • 115,000 miles

Problem started with a grinding noise when the steering wheel was turned all the way to the left or right. Suddenly after driving for 7 hours and getting to our destination on vacation, when parking it was hard to steer/turn the steering wheel. When you push the gas pedal you can turn it, but when the gas pedal isn't being pushed it goes back to manual steering. This can cause me to get into a wreck and every dealership around my area is booked from a month to three months out.

Traverse LT

  • Automatic transmission

My steering began to get tight 6 weeks ago and took it in to get struts checked but they were fine and has the stabilizer bar replaced. Problem persisted and got worse so now got the power steering pump and hose replaced to address the problem but driving home when the oil warmed it was much worse and car unsafe to drive and now being told I need to replace the rack and pinion. Seriously, with countless complaints about steering issues why is GM not dealing with this. This was not an inexpensive vehicle.. a recall should be fixing this problem.. its just a 2015 with not a lot of mileage. What the heck!!! Steering was so hard to handle I have sore muscles in my arms and pulled my lower back trying to keep control of the vehicle..this is absolutely a safety hazard.
