The power steering pump on our 2015 Chevy Traverse is failing and needs to be replaced. The dealer (Karl Tyler Chevrolet, Missoula, MT) examined the pump and agreed. First, a power steering pump should not fail at 57K miles, so pox on Chevrolet for poor quality. Second, the extended warranty company, Fidelity, is taking days to approve the work, even though the problem is obvious. This unnecessarily interrupts our plans and our life. We were never told when we bought the extended warranty that the company (Fidelity) would hold up the work for days to just to provide "approval". Obviously they don't want to back their warranty, so they are bullying the dealer and the owner (me). Bottom line: Beware of buying Chevrolet and DON'T BUY EXTENDED WARRANTIES, THEY ARE A RIP OFF!! We bought two new cars from Karl Tyler Chevrolet and we are thinking of buying a new Chevy truck; not sure that we'll do that now.

Very dangerous I could NOT turn into my driveway off a major highway. Took to mechanic and he told me 2015 Traverse was NOT safe for me to drive so I had to get a rental car until the new power steering pump arrived

The steering pump is hard to access and requires 6.5 hours of shop work. Typical bid was around $1200. I bought the pump for around $300 and did the work myself.
