problem #2

Trax LT 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,253 miles

Not had the problem repaired yet. Key didn't go all the way back so the electrics were on - now battery is flat. Been happening on and off for about 2 weeks but the key always came out. Waiting a week to get into my dealer.

Now it has to be towed. More to come

Update from Apr 26, 2018: The Dealership Had the car overnight (the mechanic took car home) but could not duplicate the key sticking in ignition . The didn't do anything. They said it may have been a weak battery? The charged it and sent me on my way. I wasn't happy but I felt they had made an honest effort but I was back at the dealer in less than a week with the key stuck.

This time they spotted the button on the auto tran select lever was depressed. It had stuck in the lever, not allowing the key to be removed. Yippee!!! It was decided to replace the mechanism rather than squirt lubricant into the lever and hope for the best. I believe that the problem is solved (once the dealer installs the part in a few days)

Trax AWD 3.2L

My key continually gets stuck in the ignition and I cannot shut the car off. Sometimes I kill my battery. If I play WITH MY GEAR SHIFTER BUTTON WHICH THE GM DEALERSHIP BROKE, I GET IT SHUT OFF AFTER POUNDING ON IT. AND WIGGLING THE KEY.
