Engine won't start, have to jump. Charging system failure. This has happened numerous times over the last year & a half. Replaced the battery 3 times. This is a big issue because this vehicle is used to transport my disabled child that is in a wheelchair. This is pretty much his life line if anything were to happen to him. It is my only means of transportation for him. The dealership keeps saying it is the battery of which has been replaced 3 times with the last time being less then a month ago. The dealership seems to not want to check any further than the battery.

charging system failure light continues to come on. took it in to be fixed and they said it was the alternator. they replaced it 2X but the light is still on, so they said it must be the brain (or computer) so they replaced it but it is still on. No one seems to know what the problem is, so how do I get my car fixed. I need my car for my job and it has been in the shop for 12 days already. Now that I have been reading about this problem with the 2008 Uplanders, it seems like they would know what the problem is and how to fix it after 6 years.

It took two trips to the dealership, but we figured it out. the Uplander kept having trouble starting but it turned out that we needed to change the starter. It was draining the battery.

The vehicle has a problem starting every morning and after it's hasn't been driven for about 3hrs. I have to turn the key in the ignition and hold it in the on position until it starts.
