1999 Chevrolet Venture rear axle broke while consumer was coming to a stop. The consumer was at an intersection, heard a sound, then was unable to move forward or backward. A crack was found and the component was rusty. There were several incidents of other vehicles that have experienced breaks in the trailing arm of the rear axle.
