About These NHTSA Complaints:

The gas gauge on the Chevy ventura does not work and this is a consistent problem with the ventura line. Sometimes as little as 15,000 miles and the gas gauge either stays on full ( no matter how many miles you drive) or it stays on empty. Either way, it is a problem that hundreds of buyers have experienced.
- Phila, PA, USA
Fuel gauge erratic and does not accurately reflect amount of fuel in tank. Low fuel light comes on regardless of fuel level in tank.
- Omaha, NE, USA
Gas guage does not register unless the tank is totally full, then it just drops down to empty whenever it wants. I feel that this is a safety hazard due to ending up with an empty gas tank at any time. The only thing that I can do is try to keep track of my miles. This has also happened to a friend of ours whom also owns the same brand of van.
- Marion, OH, USA
The gas gauge is not working properly. It will tell incorrect fuel level, usually either completely full or say flat on empty even though we know for a fact that there is gas in it.
- Dittmer, MO, USA
At start of van, the fuel gage moves back and forth on the gage. It registers 0 gallons when there is fuel in the tank. This is on a vechile that is <4 years old. The dealer states that he has seen this problem before in the Chevy Venture van with low mileage. It will cost >$800 to fix since the wareenty has exired. I will never buy a GM vehicle again!
- Allentown, PA, USA
Automatic transmission won't go into 2nd or 3rd gears. Windshield wipers won't go back into park. Gas tank stop registering and cross bars on window motor were broken.
