The brake light on the drivers side constantly blows out.. we have replaced it numerous times, but it still blows. The base of the bulbs look melted on every one we have replaced. Now the turn signal on the driver's side goes crazy and blinks very fast at random. It can work right for 20 times and then go crazy the next time it is used..

I own a 2000 Chevrolet Venture and I am having problems with my brake light bulbs melting in the sockets. I replace them and they work for a while until they melt resulting in the bulb burning out. I know of several other people that own Chevy Venture that also have this problem. I feel that this problem needs to be looked into before it results in a fire or an accident. Any help with this problem will be appreciated.

The car would not always start, so I took it back to the dealer under warranty, and it was discovered that the one of the cables that attached to the battery had melted (of course the battery was also drained). Also, my turn signals blinked quickly when the brakes were on. Within three weeks, my brake lights did not work if the headlights or turn signals were used. When I took the car back to the dealership, the panels for the brake lights were replaced. It appears that there was a leak in the casing of the break lights and the water caused the connectors to also melt. Now, after over $500 in repairs that were not covered by my warranty, the air bag light stays on while driving for no apparent reason.
