Problem solver Intake Gasket set is made by Fel-Pro. This gasket uses a metal frame instead of the familiar plastic. We put 20k miles on our van since these gaskets were installed by my brother and myself and even tho we are not certified mechanics they held up so far. Just to give you some hope on this issue. You will need to ask for the special gasket. Good luck friends.

this van is only 3 years old. we still have one more year to pay on it. it has been falling apart almost from day one. the drivers side windshield wiper is being held on with hockey tape, the front seat is cracked and wrecked on the side and on and on and on. these head gaskets were the straw that broke the my back. we are so disappointed with our first gm vehicle that we will DEFINITELY not by gm ever again and we are telling everyone we meet and talk to, to do the same.

I went to 3 mechanics and they all just closed the hood and said: this model is a peace of junk, go to the first dealership you find and trade it before it will die on you and you will end up spending $2000-$3000 to fix it. Do I have any other option?

GM, the end of the line..

Venture Warner Brothers V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,000 miles

First intake manifold gasket (and water pump) replaced May 2007. Second time intake manifold gasket replaced November 2007. Third time intake manifold gasket replaced February 2008. AGGGHH. Caled GM once I found many people with same problem and all the lawsuits. I asked for reimbursement for original repair. GM said they did not have a recall so there is not a problem. Dealership said that they could find nothing wrong which would explain the gasket being replaced for the THIRD time in less than a year and within 13,000 miles of the first. Gues next time I'll let it go so that they'll put a new engine in it. Don't think I will ever buy GM again.

I had this vehicle about 3 months when it again leaked antifreeze. My mechanic since that has had 2 more, the same year, one a Olds, one another 2002 Venture. I was told by him there is a class action suit, as they used the wrong antifreeze. I had to refinance my loan to pay for this, and now the air conditoner is leaking coolant, and I cannot see where I can get it fixed. I will never buy a Chevrolet product again!!! I am trying to locate the firm that is suing, so I can get in on it. I feel as I am the second owner, I will not be notified. Thanks
