high voltage system will not charge the battery
its very annoying when you plug the car in and it doesn't charge. it has happened seven times and now the car isn't under warranty and we have to pay the bill. We have an appt to take the car in in a couple days so well find out then how much it costs.

I bought the 2012 Volt in 2014 - used. The first charger stopped working within the first year, 2015. It just stopped charging. The dealership replaced the charger with a new one saying it was under warranty. Now, 4 years later, the charger plug gets HOT while it's charging. in the past month, I noticed that the prongs are browning. I never felt the plug to be hot until the car wasn't fully charged and was still charging when I pulled out the plug. I touched the metal prongs and was instantly burned. I went to the dealership, and told them the issue. (Chevy of Naperville, Il.) He said sorry you will have to buy a new one at $500.00. I told him this was the second one I've had since purchasing the vehicle, he said sorry no warranty.
How many chargers will I have to go through, or if I buy a new Volt (with which I'm very pleased), will I have to fork over another $500 bucks? Doesn't seem right!...
