No squealing brakes when I first bought the car or thru the winter but as soon as the weather started warming up I realized that almost everytime I would stop the brakes would squeal. Not a regular squeal but a extremely loud high pitch noise that can be heard clear as day from inside the vehicle. It's incredibly embarrassing not to mention annoying. I took it to the dealer and they checked it out, said that it was a "break on period noise". Now 3,000 miles later I still have the noise. Going back to the dealer tomorrow! The list of problems I have with this car are just crazy.
Update from Jun 10, 2012: Forgot to mention the dealer said I only had 10% used brakes so we know it's not that.

I just can't believe that a brand new car's brakes are supposed to squeal all the time when backing regardless of where you are. Getting the run-a-round and have since I bought it 12,500 miles ago. It is embarrassing.

I bought my car 7/30/11 with 88 Miles on it. When I drove it off it was perfect. Then the brakes started squealing when I backed up only. I took it back : Response was " that's just how the brakes are on this model Chrysler. It kept on squealing and still didn't anyone to say that it wasn't normal. In September 2015 I slammed on my brakes to keep from hitting car that darted in front of me. I had to have towed due to breaking the pads! After a brake job for a month no squeaking.....Then it started again didn't matter whether I was going forward or backward. I got the same reaction to the squealing brakes as I did when I bought it. Ok now it's 2016, my air went out....I have 56000 miles on my car and took it in for the air, so I told them to be sure and check brakes. They did and their response was. My brakes were glazed over. What the heck? What causes this? Response: Driving with one foot on brake and one on accelerator......Right! Or, Breaking too much. What the hell is breaking too much on a commute to Dallas from Ft. Worth every day without needing to break too much. (bumper to bumper traffic)
These brakes are a ongoing problem, whether it be Chrysler Corp or the people that repair them or check them out before selling them.
It is very embarrassing, stressful, annoying and whatever else you can think of. I only have 56000 miles on this car that I love and the fn brakes are sqealing.............Really Chrysler.......Come on! I will never buy another Chrysler because of this. Now I have to give up my beautiful car because no one gives a sh*t about the brakes squealing. THANK YOU
