This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chrysler dealer.
Just driving and it cuts off and stalls fast. Caused me to burn out my starter. That's not fair $351 for that. Also it's doing it again. PCM was reset last year, that worked ok until now. I had a car bump me nearly crashing as it shut down pulling into a dark alley. The car has in endangered my life more than 3 times. I have lost all confidence in the product line that car is a RIP off for consumers and a money maker for Mopar and Chrysler. Just lost all power and coasted again to a fast halt get boost and it may work. Sometimes no boost and it still works Chrysler needs to pay my car off and take it back for examination. It's dangerous for the road. If I have to pay I'm going to sue them.

75 year old male and 73 year old handicapped wife went shopping yesterday. Dropped her off at front of store and car stalled, started up, drove ten feet, stalled again. Called Chrysler, they said no warranty. They do not have a fix.

I have always been a Ford guy. Bought this Chrysler 200 to help my son out. This car completely acted possessed going down the road, warning lights (on and off), transmission wouldn't shift. Car wouldn't start but then would. Very unpredictable and very unreliable. Now it's not driveable. Supposedly the TIPM?? Expensive repair and part is unavailable.

While driving my car I was coming to a stop. I lost all power to my car no hazards no power on the dash nothing. Once the ground connection touched my battery to get a jump my power came back. I was able to start it back up. this is the second time this has happened. I did a little research and it seems as though it's a Total Integrated Power Module (TIPM) failure but I could be wrong. Has anyone else had this problem?

Ok, this is NOT the first issue I have had with this car. I had to have the alternator & belt replaced (expensive and quite an ordeal) last summer. Now yesterday a similar situation- driving along and the dash panel lights come on....and the car dies. Barely get it started....sit and it does it again. Over and over. Took me 4 hours to get the car home (normally less than 30 minutes).
The auto mechanic that I intended to use is closed tomorrow. I am still without a car. I purchased the car used and they have been totally useless from the first major breakdown last summer. Which meant a hotel stay out of town; cab ride etc. I am FURIOUS with Chrysler right now. I LOVED my car, I babied my car.............and now this! I am so upset. I want answers!
I am ready to take the car- return it to the lot and create quite a scene until I have a replacement automobile! And I can do it! Thank you. I apologize for the rant- but I am really in a financial bind and don't know what to do. This is why I pay a $400 a month car payment........so I don't have to deal with issues like this (AGAIN)!

I purchased my very first car, the 2011 Chrysler 200, in June of 2012, I thought it was a very nice car, I worked to pay for it.
On August 01, 2014, I noticed the battery light was on, the car started running a little funny, I went home and parked it. The next day, while out running errands, same thing happens and battery light comes on only this time the car stops and will not start. After receiving a boost, the car runs only for a short time then battery light comes back on and car stops and will not start. Now its the weekend and I contacted the dealership where car was purchased and was told they would not have electrician in till Monday. I missed work on Sunday, got to work late on Monday after dropping car off to dealership, only to wait until Tuesday for a return call about what the problem was with my car. I am told that it's very rare but the alternator was bad, and after paying $109.99 for a diagnosis that the total repair cost is $630. Beyond very pissed!!!! Will not be buying another Chrysler vehicle ever!
The car has been in the shop 7 times now in the past year and a half that I have had it as well it has had a no car issue 6 times it would sit in the sun all day then not start the next day when they had time to look at it; it started just fine. They found out it happened to be the started

The Problem: POPPING #33 FUSE (SWITCH BANK/DIAGNOSTIC LINK CONNECTOR/PCM),
Have been replacing fuses each and every time so I can go on with my business. I find that it happens between shifting gears. It does not matter if you are in Drive/Automatic mode or Auto-Stick Mode. Did not turn my car in right away (now I wish I would have) because I would have felt silly if I had my car towed and the tech. found that a $.25 fuse was blown.
This is a very serious issue with a risk factor through the roof because the drive train completely shuts down. No Power Steering, no power brakes. At highway speeds you pucker up and hope you can make it to the side without getting into an accident before your car comes to a complete stop.
First time it happened, it just rained heavily and I thought something got wet - Entering the Freeway up shift from 2nd-3rd 34084 miles Second time, turning into my driveway downshift from 2nd to 1st - coincidence? 35028 miles Third time, abrupt stop downshift from 6th to 1st 36013 Fourth time - pulling into work downshift from 3rd to 2nd 37112 Fifth Time - slowing down on expressway downshift 5th to 4th 38223 Sixth Time - Slowing to a stop downshift 2nd to 3rd 38,764 Seventh Time - During rush hour stop and go traffic (the last straw) up-shift 2nd to 3rd 39,134 Eighth time - Within 15 minutes of Seventh time stopping at a stop light. Downshift 2nd to 1st 39,146 Ninth time - Next morning on my way to the dealership - Up-shift from 4th to 5th 39,164
Went to dealership and made an appointment. Luckily I am conscious of my surroundings and was able to get out of harms way every time. I will NOT let my wife drive this car, for her safety, until it is fixed. Is there a documented fix for this?

Electrical problem disables the car by not being able to start, now for the fourth time. Also the transmission shifts roughly with jerking at speeds at about 20 to 25 MPH, these problems have not been resolved despite at least five or six times now towed to dealer after leaving my wife or I stranded.. Various repairs have been done to no avail error codes by diagnostic instruments have indicated worthless. This with in a period of six months. Car has 8300 miles on the odometer, car was purchased new..

Purchased new Chrysler 200 sedan. Vehicle has a complete electrical failure while driving the vehicle at city street speeds and at freeway speeds. Vehicle lost all electrical power, no braking or steering assistance, no lights, not even hazard warning lights can be activated. All instruments go dead along with any power to the vehicle what so ever. Engine goes dead. Two near accidents because of the problem with the chrysler 200.
Update from Oct 22, 2011: Chrysler has agreed to purchase the vehcile back from me and refund me all my costs. This will solve my problem with the Chrysler 200 2011.

Several electrical components like a turn signal here or washer pump there stopped working. At first I thought a wire harness somewhere got sliced but it turns out it was all the TPIM unit, and that it is VERY common. I am hoping a lawsuit concludes where is I can get my money back for the repairs at least.
