I have a 2012 Chrysler 200.Purchased it approximately 12 months ago when the problem began. I purchased a set of 4 tires and had them put on about a month ago. The next day I noticed my abs light and traction control light was on. took it back to the tire center and told them. They informed me they was not around that part of the vehicle. They suggested it was a wheel sensor. That made since to me then because my spouse had told me about coming out of a parking structure and the passenger side of the car coming down off the curb. then this was probably the problem I was having.
I took the car to a Chrysler dealership to have it fixed. I told them what had happened. A few hours later they came back with the diagnoses as the abs motor was not working and that it would cost $1000.00 dollars to fix. I called the warranty department and explained the problem, they return my call back later after checking in to the problem. Told me it would have been covered but the garage I took it to stated to them that the car had been ran into a ditch off the road. This was not true and I can not understand why he would have told them such a thing, we did talk at the garage where I took it to about our spouses his and mine and jokingly talked about their driving. This could have been his misunderstanding or they just don't want to help me fix the car.
Regardless I explained to the warranty department it was a curb and there was no way that would cause the abs motor to stop working. It is located under the hood and is mounted to the vehicle with brackets a special mounting all to itself. The place was very rude to me and was thinking I was lying to them. I took it that way because every time mention it was a curb the Chrysler warranty rep. would say ditch totally not true.
I guess this is why the Chrysler auto company wants you to take it toothier garage so they can beat you out of the cost of fixing your vehicle. In my opinion their garage is crooked and so is the Chrysler corporation. also this kind of part don't jut stop working. It would give some kind of warning like a light. also sensors would blow first to protect the motor. All other makes and models have them why doesn't Chrysler vehicles. I should have had a sensor go out before the abs motor went out. This car has a ton of sensors all over it, what good are they if they aren't going to work. People don't buy anything from this company their automobiles are not set up in a way as to save you mechanical expenses like other dealerships and they will lie and cheat you out of warranty repairs like they have done me.
By the way I'm sorry to say this is my second time of beat by this corporation. The time before this it was my whole computer and wiring system that had to be replaced on a Chrysler concord. The rest of you that have been screwed out by Chrysler please get involved write your complaints and please lets help detour other people from buying their faulty vehicles. Thank You, Sincerely
