When you first start the car it has a high pitch, dry, rough, bearing noise on the power steering pump which lasts about a minute. While making the noise you can turn the steering wheel and it then it makes a grinding noise, then it quits after it warms up.
I have taken it back to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, they kept for a week but did not repaired the problem. Suggestion was made to flush the system but there was no guarantee that it would fix the problem. The serviceman stated that it was due to the cold weather causing the problem, which I personally cannot believe that could be the case. If that was the problem every new car out on the parking lot would be doing the same thing.
My question is, has any other Chrysler 200 with 4 cylinders had the same problem? If so, what was done to have the problem fixed so I can take it back to my dealership to have it repaired? My concern is if the pumps locks up it can cause a car crash or cause more damage to other engine parts.
Thank you in advance for any co-operation to this matter.
