While heading out of town for a quick day trip, we were driving on the I-40 interstate, speed was posted at 65MPH. Suddenly there is a beep, all of the instrument lights come on, and the speedometer drops to 0 then returns to 60-65. We were in the canyon between mountains, so there is no place to turn off. Naturally Semi-trucks are part of the traffic mix. This same situation occurs intermittently over the next three miles until we can exit and turn around and go back home. We still have to make our trip, but now in a different vehicle. The same problem happens almost at will for the next 20 miles where home is.

We call the Chrysler dealer to see if someone is familiar with this. I am certain this has to be a recall issue. We speak with a receptionist who takes our info and is supposed to contact a service advisor to call us back. This happens on a Saturday, so obviously, we do not receive a call back. Since this is my wife's car and she has jury duty Monday, we cannot make an appointment to get it looked at right away. The hassle of all this now means we have one vehicle to cover all the families needs.

It sure is unsafe to drive a vehicle not knowing what speed you are going as the gauge is bouncing from whatever you are doing and then to 0 and back. The engine is making a strange hum-whirr sound while idling at stops too. Chrysler owes us a fix on this and we should not have to be forced to pay or keep an unsafe to drive vehicle, despite the current mileage. Not only did we lose 1-1/2 hours on our trip, but this affected the people meeting us on the other end. It continues to affect us for as long as we have to wait to get it diagnosed. Jury duty puts another wrinkle in this because they (Govt) won't see it as problem THEY have to deal with. Just report and you won't get fined for not appearing.

Just bought this used car Sept. 2016 which has 44,000 km. In April 2017 the alternator blew and was replaced with an extended guarantee I had purchased from the dealer along with the car.

Since the alternator was changed, I have been having problems after a heavy rain for a few days: remote key would not work, door locks, lights, windows, etc... would not work. Alarm would go off if unlocking door with key. When removing key from ignition and opening door, the ding ding saying the key was in the ignition which it wasn't. Finally, the car would not start at all August 28, 2017 at only 66,301 km. Since this part is not covered by the extended warranty, it is costing me approx. $850.00 or more so far to have the WIN module replaced and no car for a week or more since there are no parts available in Montreal and maybe one in Toronto.

Why is this car having electrical problems at such a low mileage ????

Is there a recall on the WIN modules coming ????
